We have just moved. In Bristol my boys had a tree house but due to this being a new house and its bare garden we cant do that here so we thought we'd buy them a play tower. (open sided shed on stilts - ladder, slide etc)Some of these things cost thousands and you could actually live in them but a few are quite reasonably priced at £300 (ish) . We ordered one on line last night from prezzybox. They said delivery would be free if the order was over £40 but today they want £230 to deliver to central Scotland. Good grief we live in Alloa not Mars!!
Does anyone know of a site that will give free delivery on such products or better still a company in Northern GB or Scotland who make/sell this type of thing?

Outside campus is not realistic, Figleaf. No idea about the parking permit thing but the Macrobert is a big public access arts centre so there will be some straightforward way to deal visitors when you get to the gates. I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks - see you later

Deep apologies ladies - bit of an emergency this morning. DS (6 months) who we discovered has a dairy allergy when we started weaning was prescribed vitamin drops yesterday. Gave them to him this morning and he had quite a severe reaction to them. They contain peanut oil - I am quite cross to say the least that a pediatric allery consultant bloody prescribed them. Anyhoo I spent all morning and most of the afternoon having DS observed at the Hospital - luckily whilst his face & eyes were badly swollen his tongue and airways remained clear.

I am very sorry and I do hope at least a few of you managed to meet and have a coffee. I am usually very reliable and would love to catch you with you all soon - she says in the style of a lonely heart column

how awful gomez. Is DS out of hospital now?

Just me and suis today but we had a good chat and a few cups of coffee plus I got to hold her sweet little 9 week old -a real treat for a mum whose 'baby' has their 6th birthday party tomorrow.

Shall we give it another go in a week or two? I could put up a thread title in the meetup section with peoples names in (suis, juliemarch06, ja9, tassis ect.) or maybe somthing like Stirling, Alloa and hillfoots meet up.

Macrobert is a really good place, I took away lots of leaflets.

Good grief Gomez, that must have been very scary. Hope he's doing OK now.

Figleaf - It was really good to meet you today, hope the party goes well tomorrow. Good idea on the new thread and on organising for in a couple of weeks time, I would certainly be up for another blether !

DS is absolutely fine - we were sent home from hospital yesterday afternoon. He was to be honest neither up nor down, apart from rubbing his and he soon stopped that after he got some anti-histimaine. It is the on-going nightmare that I am slightly more concerned with - we only started weaning about a fortnight ago and have so far discovered a dairy and a peanut allergy. What other treats lie ahead .

Anyhoo I am so plesed that you guys managed to get it together I was really concerned that Figleaf was going to be on her own wandering about accosting random ladies with babies trying to find a mumsnetter. I am more than up for it in a week or two - would be nice if we could catch Tassis, Ja9 etc. so your idea sounds great Figleaf. I look out for the thread.

How did the party go Figleaf ?

figleaf · 24/04/2007 18:58

It went really well thanks suis. 6 boys turned up in the end, all in fancy dress. With my two boys that made 8 so it was a good number for games etc. The play tower got a good old test too.
I'd say the birthday has melted the ice a tad with some P1 mums, bit early to say how much. Ds2's actual Birthday is tomorrow so I`m sending in sweets for the rest of the class.

Figleaf - details of that jousting event I told you about on this page. Scroll down the list to July 1st events. Don't know if it mentions the archers, but they will be there.

jousting at Culzean

suis · 24/04/2007 23:37

.. and I'm glad the party went well. I'm sure it's a wee boost for you and your DS2

I started the new thread on the meetups section earlier today but no takers yet. Perhaps one or two of you have a watch on this thread. I was suggesting coffee next week?
