Am looking to get a new pushchair for ds who is just 6 months.
Atm we have an old Quinny 3XL freestyle that we used for dd but it is rather heavy and a bit battered.
We've also been using a Graco thing but that really is battered. The wheel fell off yesterday

Sooooo, I had my eye on a Quinny Zapp but to my horror, they dont have a shopping basket and I would quite like a tray on it for when he's a bit bigger although its not a must.
I also dont want anything too big or heavy and it must fit a seat to go on it too.

Does anyone have any good recommendations?

Oh and ds never slept in his zapp cos it is really upright and as u now know no recline. I sold mine a few month after getting it but am really tempted to get another now he's older but dh won't have any of it

ooh I'm quite tempted by the Infinity too. I emailed Kiddicare today though to question their 'folded' measurement - they say it's 88 x 45 x 44cm, which implies that the width is either 44 or 45cm. I'm not sure it can be though, that would make it quite narrow and I've seen the width listed as 60cm on another site, so I wanted to check.

60cm is quite wide to get round shop aisles, I've got a Quinny Buzz which is 60cm wide and it's quite difficult at times.

They promised to get back within 24hrs so will let you know!

yes agree, not keen on the Zapp. Looks pretty but inflexible.

FirstAtForty · 21/02/2007 22:21

fwiw I can recommend the Techno too, nice and narrow, nippy and well made. If it was rear facing my life would be complete.

BuffysMum · 21/02/2007 22:30

Having owned far too many double and single pushchairs over the last 5 yers - I think either a m&p p3 if you want something solid and have a toddler to stick on the built in step at the back or a maclaren if you want something lighter weight.

NbgsYellowFeathers · 22/02/2007 08:29

Sorry folks, ended up going to bed.
I bought the Hauck Infinity in the end.
So I'll let you know how it is FAF!

The Maclaren is nice but theres no way it would last 2 minutes. The wheels on that are smaller than the Graco I've got and I've totally battered that. Plus I dont think it would take the seat to go very well.

The Zapp is nice to look at but thats about it.
It deffo needs to recline.

Maclarens are stronger than they look...I'm a convert - having shunned them for my 1st 3 children as they looked flimsy, I have a Triumph for ds3 and it's fab. He's just turned 3 so is about to give it up, but I still keep it in the boot for when he's v. tired or I'm in a hurry. Bought when he was 1y +. For a younger baby a Quest might be cosier.

trace2 · 22/02/2007 09:30

nbg i nearly bought that one too, but was told the maclaren was better, buy three shops

NbgsYellowFeathers · 22/02/2007 10:16
