My parents came round to visit us today and bought the kids a 8ft garden trampoline. Its brilliant, I think I may have a problem getting them in today.

Not so good if you haven't got a very good pelvic floor though !!!!

Just thought I would share that with anyone who was thinking of buying one

Sorry to be thick but what do safety nets look like/ do?
Also anyone got a trampoline that collapses - seem to remember seeing some in people's gardens when we were house hunting stored sort of folded in half?

Sadly don't think we have room to sink one into the lawn...

A trampoline is better than a lawn as it does not grow..!

Well since starting this thread, my kids have been out on theirs every day - looks like I will be entertaining half of the school in the 6 weeks holiday

I have a little bit, but only with the kids, as our garden is slightly overlooked I feel a bit silly. Its great fun though - the kids like it when they sit on it and I bounce around them, flinging them into the air. I see that they are on offer in toys r us at the moment £79.99 I think ????

Sorry - but still keen to know if any of these trampolines can be folded away in bad weather. Want quite a large one but want to be able to reclaim the garde occasionally

Fio2 · 13/07/2004 15:30

gold123 - did mum and dad get it from chase lines in rugeley? that place is excellent!

stinky · 19/07/2004 16:35

argos now have the 13 ft one in stock for £159.99 reduced from £199.99.

My next door neighbour has just bought a humungous one for her tiny backgarden. It's hilarious - we hear the kids shout, "one, two, three" followed by a boooinnng, and three little ponytails come flying into view over the fence. DP nearly wet himself when two ponytails and a pair of socks hurtled into the air yesterday.

Does it have to stand on a completely flat surface? Because thanks to the dolts that owned our house before us, we have a huge path slap through the middle of our tiny yet excessively bumpy lawn. Surface is not on a slope but is far from even. Would I have to do some gardening before erecting a suitably vast boinger?

Also, how old do children have to be to use one of these? Are they too young at 4 and 2?

Father Christmas brought them a trampette with a handle on it, but it's too small for me to go on!!!! Have tried but my feet keep hitting the floor! If I'm honest I guess I want one for me, but I want to pretend its for the boys.
Don't think next door have dug their trampoline in either. Will have a nosey over the fence when they're out and see if we could do whatever it is they've done.

do you all have covers on your trampoline, or is OK not to have one?

golds · 21/02/2005 17:59

I haven't on ours, I think its OK not too, still 6 months on from first post and trampoline still my top recommendation.

bluesky · 22/02/2005 12:27

anyone else? to bother or not bother? (thanks golds btw)

scotlou · 22/02/2005 12:49

I really want a big trampoline - thinking about getting one in the summer - ds wants one with a cage round it - has anyone got a cage on theirs and is it worth the extra money?
Ideally I want a trampoline that I can use too - what's the smallest (ie cheapest!) we can get away with?
Are they hard to put up?
Ta for the info

miggy · 22/02/2005 13:06

Possibly thick question but if you dig a pit for a trampoline, doesnt it just fill with water. We are on clay soil and hole=pond here. Am I missing something?
