What do you do? Do you cleanse/tone/moisturise or are you a splash and go girl?

I had a lovely Elemis facial yesterday and took the plunge and bought the range of products - Ive let me skincare regime slip since birth of DS and want to get back into to it to brighten my skin up.

What is your regime?

cleanse tone moisturise twice a day using either liz earle or decleor.Elemis is lovely though have used it in the past

katierocket · 02/05/2004 08:13

espa products - cleanse and moisturise.
good products do make a difference, ignore anyone who says "oh, I don't bother with any of that expensive nonsense I just use e45/nivea/lard and I look 20 years younger than I am"

noddy5 · 02/05/2004 08:32

that is what my mum and her friends say.My mum does look good but with products suited to her she could look amazing

glitterfairy · 02/05/2004 08:38

I do the cleanse and tone with matis which I love and moiturise with decleor. Lol Katierocket and agree lard doesnt work! I also gasp go on a sun bed once a month in the winter and my skin glows possibly radiation but stops SAD and makes me feel much better. Have had one treatment called omnilux which was red light and made me look fantastic but too expensive.

Beccarollover · 02/05/2004 08:40

Is once a month sunbed enough to make a difference glitterfairy?

I love having a tan but find messing on with fake bake and St Tropez a bit of a PITA but also dont want to undertake a serious sun bed habit!

I cleanse/tone/moisturise twice a day ... no matter what ...

ponygirl · 02/05/2004 08:52

I was going to start a thread on this! I'm really crap and never do this properly, but really feel I should be making more of an effort. I'm going to be 36 soon : should I be using some of this stuff for 'older' skin? Does it really make a difference and if so what should I use?

Hulababy · 02/05/2004 08:56

Moisturise usually twice a day, but the rest rarely! Have got fash wash I use daily though if that counts.

noddy5 · 02/05/2004 09:39

how much is omnilux? What does it do?

spacemonkey · 02/05/2004 10:10

It does make a difference IMO. My sister is 45 and has the most beautiful luminous skin - she looks 10 years younger. She's followed a skin care regime for the last 10 years religiously. I think she chops and changes products but I know she's used Lancome stuff for years.

tamum · 02/05/2004 10:42

I would back you up on Liz Earle, noddy. I am a moisturiser junkie (as well I might be given my age and the fact that I believed my mother about all this E45 nonsense for years). I think the more expensive creams do make a difference when compared with Olay and stuff like that, although obviously it will depend on your skin. Liz Earle is one of the best cheaper ranges I've come across, and they smell gorgeous. The stuff that comes from the website is always beautifully wrapped, and they do little starter sets of everything. Go on Becca, treat yourself!

Strangely becca it does and people say I have a healthy glow dont look tanned just not like a milk bottle! When I go in the sun it doesnt look ghastly. Yes it can get addictive. Omnilux is like a face lift it was discovered by a doctor treating skin cancer with pure red light. Goodness only knows whether it really works or not but it does make your kin on you face really healthy and take away puffy eyes and stuff. Cant remember the price but something like £300 plus for a course.

My god beety injections ! Actually it was your horror at my lack of moisturiser that got me started so have you to blame again!

sexgoddess · 03/05/2004 08:35

I usually use clinique products but in the absence of my rinse off foaming cleanser a couple of weeks ago I used a Johnsons babywipe (with aloe & willowherb) and my skin looked and felt really nice so I have been using them for a couple of weeks and I have noticed quite a difference.

Oh!

sexgoddess · 03/05/2004 08:41

Actually I will confess now - I also use them for wiping down the top/sides of my brushed steel microwave and brushed steel toaster - absolutely no smears. Also very good for wiping down tiles in the kitchen above the cooker where sometimes it gets a little grimy

glitterfairy · 03/05/2004 08:41

Why just tiny lines beets lets start with the great big crows feet that stretch away to infinity!

glitterfairy · 03/05/2004 08:42

lol you two maybe we need some urine repellant and anyway whats good for a stove top may be good for our face!

sexgoddess · 03/05/2004 08:45

cooker top/dirty tiles/babies bum/my face - anyone see a connection?
