Lost Dogger - can you help?

I have lost my little boy's Dogger - a very soft brown marks and spencers dog with maroon collar. He is heartbroken! If anyone has one languishing on a toy shelf covered in dust, please would you let me buy him from you? They were sold by M&S about two years ago, but head office says there are none left in stock.

Just don't own up, whoever you are!

popsycal · 19/04/2004 23:00

Heathcliffscathy · 19/04/2004 23:01

popsycal · 19/04/2004 23:02

I thikn there are 2 sizes though......where is nicholalady.......more info..??

gingernut · 19/04/2004 23:09

Is it cream with beige ears, paws and tail, and with white bones on the collar? If so, we have a small one (about 12 cm long). ds never gives it a second glance. You are welcome to have it if it's the right one.

popsycal · 19/04/2004 23:17

i have the same one as gingernut

lemonice · 20/04/2004 13:22

What does BUMP mean is it to get message not to drop out of view?

CountessDracula · 20/04/2004 13:24

God I thought someone was after someone who they had met dogging for a moment!

Glad you found one!

Nicholalady · 20/04/2004 14:48

Hi everyone, thanks for all the comments! I didn't expect responses so quickly. It isn't a cream and beige one though, unfortunately, it is all light brown with a maroon collar. I am pretty sure it has to be the right size Pollyanna - I don't think I'll get away with a smaller one. If anyone has the right dog, I am still looking... I have told my son that I have people out there searching for him, so am not yet in the doghouse (oops sorry about that).
ps what is dogging???

What footballers do when not playing football

Tinker · 20/04/2004 15:00

I thought this was about dogging as well

Nicholalady · 20/04/2004 15:07

It comes from a book by Shirley Hughes, called Dogger - coincidentally about a little boy who loses his dog. Didn't realise there was a football connection - might have known...

We've got a soft dog from M&S, which was bought a couple of Christmases ago. However, it doesn't have a collar on it - and it's quite small - about 8" from nose to bum! It's light brown & really soft, with floppy ears. Is this the right one, but collarless? Or is it too small? I remember that they had different sizes when I bought it, & this was the smallest size.

If it is the right one then you're very welcome to it as neither of my 2 are attached to it.

pollyanna · 20/04/2004 20:29

Well if you're desperate, perhaps you can say dogger had a baby or something?! Ours is definitely brown - I got 3 spares for my son as he was soo upset when he lost a previous soft dog. He did get over it though.

(Our dogger is called Stanley Bones (and the little ones are little stanley bones)).

Nicholalady · 21/04/2004 20:14

Hi everyone, the baby dogger idea is a great one! I don't know if we are allowed to post our addresses here - I have only just joined. My email address is [email protected]. If you would really be so kind as to donate a dogger (big or small), please email me and I will give you posting information. I will of course reimburse any postage and send your child a replacement present by return!

Nicholalady - I've just e-mailed you with a couple of pictures of my dog - to see if it is really a dogger relation! See what you think and let me know. You're more than welcome to have it if it's the right one, as neither of my kids are particularly attached to it & they've got plenty of other stuff!!

Flip · 22/04/2004 12:52

Nicholalady, dogging is indeed what footballers do. Stan Collymore is a prime example. It's where you go out for a walk with dog supposedly and then solicit complete strangers for sex but I thought that's what nightclubs were for!!

Nicholalady · 22/04/2004 20:07

Crikey, perhaps I had better rename Dogger! I had no idea he was so sordid... Actually, maybe I didn't lose him after all - may Stan Collymore nicked him as an alibi!
