OK for mothers of dsses

How do you keep them assemeld?
do you defer to your ds to fix them?
DO you chuck them under coverof darkness?

Every so often I have a chuck out. We've so many of the blinkin things they don't even notice.
Obviously if one of the "best" toys was broken I would tell them it was time time to chuck out and if it was a vey important item (and cheap!)would probably replace it.

Well, you know my answer to 3, yes, I chuck bionicles as soon as I possibly can, the minute a small part (and they're all small parts!) is lost I say "oh, that's useless then, I'm throwing it away." He used to love them but lost interest a while ago. He was given some power rangers once, looked at them for 5 minutes and lost interest so I've chucked them too I think. Beyblades however, I'm OK with, maybe because they pretty much stay assembled. Ish. I can fix them (although get irritated if he gets irritated with me if I've attached the wrong bit beast to the wrong bottom bit or whatever it's called). They are so boring (to me), boys toys.

I chuck out broken stuff, or junk, or things they don't play with on a regular basis. They know I do, but don't get consulted, and don't particularly protest.

I don't throw Lego though, as they will make new things with it anyway even if a bit is missing.

They are getting more bionicles for Easter, and I was feeling a bit grumpy that all the bionicle bits were re-assembled into gruesome monsters ... so I persuaded (bribed) them to re-build them all properly. But in the Lego magazine there's a competition for a monster built out of all your Bionicle bits - so they obviously expect them to do it, and I guess it gives them more scope for creativity.

Yes, we get the lego mag too. I got it because I've bought so much from their website, but I think you can just go and sign up, it's free.

May I just point out that one of my friends sold her son's bionicles on eBay, and because they were from the first "generation" or summat, each one went for over £100. Mad or what, but worth bearing in mind.

As if I've got nothing better to do . I think you have to join the lego club and then the mag gets sent to you automatically. I can't get any further to check without signing up again, and I've already done both children!

The lego mag is basically a marketing tool ... and it works! We recently bought one of the boys one of the new Lego Knights, and ds1 suddenly launched into this 5 min description of the different knights and their talents, their history, etc., This was solely from reading it in the Lego mag - scary

btw we have, from legoland Denmark, a sword and "claw" - child-size, not toy size. Made of foam stuff so not dangerous and v light to post - anyone want them? (If I can find them...) We've also got (ditto re finding) a CD Rom that came from a cereal packet a bit ago.

Kayleigh, you're in luck, I found it just like that! Have installed it and it seems to work fine so send me your address and I'll post it off (don't worry about postage, it'll only be like a letter).

Coddy, still looking for claw.

The sword has a sort of flame pattern on it - watching the CD Rom, the thing at the beginning of that had a flame-shaped sword.

Have also found a Toy Story 2 CD Rom (while looking for Bionicles one) - anyone want that? (It has a Find Woody game on it - dunno how complicated it is.)
