Do children (around one year) like these, or are they a waste of money ?

\link{http://www.fuzzy-duck.co.uk/shop/item.asp?itemid=221&catid=44\here} - endless hours of fun and giggles or 30 second wonders which will be chucked at precisely seven times ?

TIA.

oh dear... after showing them 7 times.

My head is full of high pressure hayfever, LOL.

Waste of time. We were given one a few years ago, and it got used as a sword. Then the wooden stick broke.

Chandra · 08/06/2006 21:09

30 second wonder I believe. I think the interest last a bit longer if the little puppet can bite (DS loves his cocodrile to bits but very seldomly...)

hunkermunker · 08/06/2006 21:10

Two second wonder, IME - and there is NO WAY that beautiful Camille is nearly one, no way!

hub2dee · 08/06/2006 21:13

11 months old a few days ago, hunker.

Thanks for your comments. Will save my pennies and buy her a large cardboard box instead. Smile

Not possible.

Mind you...in fewer than six weeks, DS2 is half a year old...my life is going Way Too Fast, it's official!

hub2dee · 08/06/2006 21:17

Surely she means 26 weeks, Twiglett, right ?

Wink

What can you do to slow down then hunker ? Cryogenic suspension ???

(If I could count)

\link{http://www.groovystyle.co.uk/productpages/hippychick/bumblebee.html\Get one of these!}

I got ds one for his first birthday, he liked pinging the feely bopper things to start with but at about 18 months he was scooting around everywhere on it. :)

sassy · 08/06/2006 21:22

Hub

if I might be so bold as to offer a suggestion for a 1st birthday present...doll's pushchair.

Cheap, cheerful and endless play value.

(Look crap though - no aesthetic value like your cute mouse puppets.)

SoupDragon · 08/06/2006 21:23

\link{http://www.fuzzy-duck.co.uk/shop/item.asp?itemid=231\But look at the dragon!!}

mazzystar · 08/06/2006 21:23

ditto rickman!

hub2dee · 08/06/2006 21:31

the bumblebug thing looks fun. I think dd would keep falling off it at present, though she sits fine on her tush on the floor... I'd also seen something in a similar vein a while back but can't quite remember where. It's a sit-on thingy that creates forward motion byt moving the steering column to the left and right... the wheel at the front is off-centre or sommit, so this generates a changing path of least resistance IYSWIM...

Oh no, sassy. not a DOLLS PUSHCHAIR SO HELP ME GOD. Grin Can't I just get her a gun or sommit ?

I think the dragon might have worked a while back, but now dd is preparing her uni entrance tests I'm just not sure.

have never regretted getting this for DS .. still oodles of play value

Bozza · 08/06/2006 21:35

Get her a pushchair and a gun. There you are less than a tenner and you are sorted.

Actually a pushchair is a really brilliant toy. Folds up small so can go out and about and as soon as kids can walk they love pushing them around. DD and any other similarly aged children always fight over them. And for £5.

DD also enjoys the odd sword fight so I am not being too gender stereotypical. Grin

\link{http://www.toysrus.co.uk/Product.aspx/BruHome/BruBabyToys/BruBabyToysPreSchool/BruBabyToysPreSchoolBath/383945?ref=Search\these are good too} .. fun for all the family

misdee · 08/06/2006 21:36

best thing dd3 likes? a small dora ball, 72p from tesco. hours of fun isnide the house and in the garden.

also a mini slide and trampoline (passed on from dd1+2)

cazzybabs · 08/06/2006 21:36

Hub2Dee - we have one for our dds and they love it!

rickman · 08/06/2006 21:39

All 4 of mine whizz around on the bug thing and dd1 is 8. The others got a little armchair on their first birthday.

Twiglett · 08/06/2006 21:40

get a cheap £5 pushchair from ELC .. do not be tempted to pay more for snazzy extras .. they get in the way and are too heavy and unwieldly

Mercy · 08/06/2006 21:41

Sassy, i agree re the doll's buggy. my two, 5 and 2 still play endlessly with them

Ikea do a trolley cum pushchair thing. It's wooden and costs about £15. It can be adjusted so the wheels don't go too fast.

misdee · 08/06/2006 21:42

yes cheapo buggies are great. we have two and they fit under the sofa Grin

I've just realised that the website you're linking to is run by one of my friends Smile (fuzzyduck).

An old lady went in there and asked if they realised there were drinking games involving the phrase Grin.
