well i bought and apart from being stunned that the instructiosn can make a simple device look liek splitting the atom, its VERY good and the recipe they give you is good.

Boys ate 2 each for their tea!

think i'll do a JOb lot for the freezer

After going to the trouble of making home made burgers I'd rather they didn't look neat and shopbought. I prefer them a bit rough round the edges.

cod · 21/04/2006 20:29

oh no you dont

youare just insatiably jealous

....can freeze more as take up less space - that's my motive anyway

hoxtonchick · 21/04/2006 20:30

i have my mum's from when we were kids :o.

cupcakes · 21/04/2006 20:35

honestly I do! The neat ones are spooky.

cupcakes · 21/04/2006 20:36

My MIL gave me her old Tupperware ones years ago. Have never used.

chenin · 21/04/2006 21:21

the tupperware one is brilliant! I like my burgers to look rough round the edges BUT that means they just fall apart! I've got the book from M&S called 'gourmet burges' - it cost £5 and has every type of burger known to man.
Use it with the tupperware burger maker and my kids make them and we bbq all summer with loads of recipes!

rummum · 21/04/2006 22:40

does your tupperware one have 3 pieces like mine, and involve squashing it...

rummum · 21/04/2006 22:44

blimey... they've got one on ebay for £10...

chenin · 22/04/2006 20:57

it has more than 3 pieces - but yes it does have a thing for squashing 'em down! Which just makes them stay together!

expatinscotland · 22/04/2006 21:00

i got my dad one of these and he LOVES it. he loves to do burgers on the grill. his mates all liked 'em so much, my mum took eight home w/her last time!

rummum · 23/04/2006 16:04

I always cook mine in the oven... they stay together more than if I grill them...

cod · 27/04/2006 11:32

right have just made two kilos of bugers

SIlly question - if you make them and freeze them, can you cook from frozen like you do with bought ones, or do you have to defrost??

cod · 27/04/2006 12:06

CountessDracula · 27/04/2006 12:09

what is wrong with using your hands to make burgers?

CountessDracula · 27/04/2006 12:18

oh so defrost yes

suejonez · 27/04/2006 12:21

I just use a biscuit cutter as a mould and squash the mince mixture in by hand. I knead it in a bowl first a bit like bread. It stays together just fine, has relatively neat edges and doesn't look shop bought.

Lamb mince with sun dried tomatoes and a little garlic... my favorite.

cod · 27/04/2006 12:44

mmmmmmmmmm
