they are on offer in currys atm and i want one but Dh says you can only cook burgers and sausages on them.

Have you got one and what can they do and are they easy to clean?

This thread is really old now, but we’ve recently updated our best George Foreman grill page with plenty of info to help you choose the right one for you. We hope it’s helpful.

Yes, I love mine... I have been using it while my kitchen is being fitted I have the one with a flat plate next to a grill.

You can do a whole 'fried' breakfast without using oil, stirfrys, pancakes(on hotplate)oven chips/wedges,chunky grilled veg, stuffed chicken breast, steaks and more (on grill)

You can't believe the fat that comes from burgers and sausages etc I swear I have continuted to lose weight although I have eaten more burgers than I have in months!!

go for it I say!!Smile

And they are very easy to clean too!! just wipe with a kitchen wipe and then a clean cloth.

no you can cook loads on them, ive only got a little george junior and its great. really fast.

nah - you can cook anything on it - we had a smaller one when we lived in the UK - used to do the milk in that and the veges in the mocrowave - fabulous - just put meat in and way you go. We found about 7 minutes no matter what the thickness of the meat/food...

Lots of salmon and steaks, burgers, bread rolls anything you can grill.

THen to clean - you can now get a sponge made especially for cleaning it - I would simply wait a little after I had turn it off and wipe over with a paper towel. Little fat try - pour out fat/juices and just wash it up or bung it in the dishwasher.

I gave mine away when we came to Aus and I really miss using it.

I love mine too and so easy to clean far easier than fat spluttering everywhere under a normal grill.

Deffo worth every penny!

Can someone tell me how to do frozen chips on it. How long do they take?

eidsvold · 18/04/2006 13:55

never done frozen chips on it.... doesn't say in the instruction manual?

Rhubarb · 18/04/2006 14:06

What are they like for grilling placentas?

Jbck · 18/04/2006 16:13

My chums Tom & Katie just bought one, I'll see what they say Rhubarb Grin
I saw the Curry's offer & thought it looked great but DH just feels it's another gadget cluttering up the kitchen. Are they quite economical if you're using them for just a couple of things. I've got a big grill with no 1/2 option thingy and feel it's a waste when there's only me & DD using it for lunchtime snacks. Plus my grill is part of my oven & I can't use both at once. Think I'll do it anyway & bu**er him.
