clarks crawling shoes or daisy roots?

?

i think of 'crawling' shoes as a marketing ply but dd3 is now cruising furniture well, and is attempting to stand as well. she wont keep socks or shoes on atm, and have been reluctant to put them on her. but she will be cruising around at the hospital and the thought of her feet on hospital floors, well its just yuk. (i know how often they are cleaned, say no more).

have done a quick price check on ebay, and with p and p, daisey roots cost about the same as clarks crawling shoes. but her feet are dinky.

what would you do?

(dd1+2 had shoes when they were cruising outside as both were walking in the summer)

Whats the difference? i havent heard of daisy roots.

QueenVictoria · 05/01/2006 00:09

Im pretty sure though that the cruising is close enough to walking that normal shoes and not crawling shoes are better.

Crawling shoes are definitely a marketing ploy. Kneepads are more useful surely?

Gingerbear · 05/01/2006 16:57

bump for misdee

SoupDragon · 05/01/2006 16:59

Go with inch-blue/bobux type ones. Don't give Clarks your money until you absolutely have to

LIZS · 05/01/2006 17:00

Had Daisy Roots for dd - they are often half price in their sale.

LIZS · 05/01/2006 17:03

these are £5 off for example.

misdee · 05/01/2006 17:05

she is 10months but is tiny feetwise. thank you GB.

dd has daisy roots as she is at the cruising stage and i wasn't too keen on putting her in shoes but the leather on the daisy roots are sooo soft. She also has teeny feet but she is in the 6-12 months ones and has been for a couple of months and they are very roomy but stay on fine so at least they will last till she's walking properly.

LOL at Lockets' description - its fairly accurate but they're quite cute nonetheless.... will have to tell dh she needs a dog on a bit of string to go with them (but don't think that line of trying to get a dog will work either !!)

Cha · 05/01/2006 18:10

Daisy roots type shoes def. Much cheaper and don't come off.

misdee · 05/01/2006 18:12

just measured her feet, 8.5cm which would put her in the 0-6month size. awwww.

I have to say that I really wouldn't bother with either; until she starts walking outside she doesn't need shoes at all. I think cruising shoes are just a marketing ploy to make more money.

But I'm just a grumpy old curmudgeon so feel free to ignore me

misdee · 05/01/2006 18:13

but would you allow your dd to cruise round the hospital floors barefoot?

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 05/01/2006 18:14

I'm afraid I would, yes - I'd have had her in socks.

Not trying to pick fault or anything, just my thoughts.

misdee · 05/01/2006 18:15

she pulls socks off

she'd be barefoot at home and other palces, but its the hospital that fills me with dread.

I found a six inch nail worked wonders for socks

Gingerbear · 05/01/2006 18:17

8.5cm, I will have a look see what I have.

Have you been binding her feet like the Chinese used to do?
