I am using Nicky Clarke straighteners at the moment but they're not really doing the job tbh.

YES

Janh · 31/12/2005 13:02

My DDs started out with GHSs (fake GHDs at about 1/3 of the price) - they both have GHDs now and say they're worth every penny.

troubledmummy · 31/12/2005 13:14

yes yes yes def worth every penny and if u look on ebay u can sometimes get new one's cheaper than in the shops

Gillian76 · 31/12/2005 13:19

How much are they in the shops? They are on ebay for about £80.

ALMOSTANewyearANGEL · 31/12/2005 13:26

dh got mine for xmas fan bloody tastic if you have a nice friendly hairdresser ask them to get them wholesale save about £20/£30 I LOVE EM!

Bugsy2 · 31/12/2005 13:30

I think they are amazing, but I've never used any other ones, so can't really compare. I have quite a few friends who use them and as far as I know everyone thinks they work well.

Gillian76 · 31/12/2005 13:39

But you see expat, I have some money in my PayPal account so DH needn't know the damage!

nutcracker · 31/12/2005 13:41

I really really want some , must save up for a pair.

Sleighmenere · 31/12/2005 13:45

I got some boots ceramic straighteners for £12 the other day and they are really good. TBH I couldn't tell the difference between them and the GHD ones my sister uses. I don't use them everyday though so I suppose you may notice a difference in that case.

trace2 · 31/12/2005 13:46

YES DD HAS HAD SO MANY NOW SHES GOT GHDS, HAIR Q ON LINE I PAID £77 3 WEEKS AGO

trace2 · 31/12/2005 13:47

trace2 · 31/12/2005 13:48

her hair is sooooo shinny useing them

ISawFrannyandZooeyKissingSanta · 31/12/2005 13:55

Yes, they really are worth the money.

NomDePlume · 31/12/2005 13:56

I've got a cheapo pair of ceramic straighteners, they were £19.99 reduced from £29.99 in tesco. They're a brand name but I can't remember which one now. My hair is pretty straight and fine anyway so I don't need a heavy duty set, they work really well. I think if I had thicker, more unruly hair then I'd invest in GHDs.

Blossomhill · 31/12/2005 13:58

My mum got a pair for £75 inc. p&p off the internet. Am going to treat myself inFeb to a pair as they are so good.

fairydust · 31/12/2005 14:06

tony & guy in derby £85 in the sale

NomDePlume · 31/12/2005 14:07

They come in 2 sizes. Is that £75 for the mini ones ? The full sized ones are well over £100 usually

Caligyulea · 31/12/2005 14:09

What's so good about them? Let me into the secret...

ALMOSTANewyearANGEL · 31/12/2005 14:13

they get very hot very fast and just magicly straighten and make your hair all shiny

myrrhthamoo · 31/12/2005 14:18

I'm thinking about straighteners too (now I have long hair again!) and I really don't know if I can justify the expense of GHDs. They are so much money. My hair isn't wild anyway - it's wavy and there's lots of it but it's quite silky and fine anyway. Oooohhh...I don't know...
