Has anyone got a Bugpod and are they any good?

I've seen one advertised in M&B and I quite likes the look of it.

It would be cheaper than buying a double buggy and probably a better idea as dd will be nearly 3 when the new baby arrives but I still think she will still get tired when walking.

So do they actually work as well as what they show in the pictures?

whats a bugpod?
link please?

Mymble · 30/12/2005 20:28

Think you need a bar across the pushchair. This rules out a maclaren, I think.

Yes I really want one but none of my many pushchairs have a bar.

Actually they did but I took them off so ds could get in unassisted [ahem]. And now can't find them.

This would be so perfect for us, ds only uses the pushchair for his 40 minute nap.

I'll just have another look for the site.

I have a Quinny Freestyle which will have either the car seat or carry cot on when the baby comes so the bugpod should fit on.

I have been musing on these too
buggypod

Have yet to break out the tape meaure though to check my pushchair(s)

Mymble · 30/12/2005 20:38

Oh no hang on, think I read it wrong. Don't think you actually need a bar after all.

Here's a link buggypod

I bet they'll have good resale value.

Marneychristmas · 30/12/2005 20:38

What is it? cant find it on google? Can someone explain what it is please?

Nbg · 30/12/2005 20:38

Few crossed posts there!

Doesn't say they need a bar across the front though... Do you think it would be ok to have one of these for a 2.4 aged child when new sib is born? Or is a double a must. I was hoping to get away with slinging one or the other and swapping them about in the pushchair but this would add a whole other dimension!

Marneychristmas · 30/12/2005 20:42

Looks great, but not much cheeper than a double pushchair, very good idea though.

babaworshipper · 30/12/2005 20:43

Three different links too - coooool!

Nbg · 30/12/2005 20:43

I think it says it will take a child up to the age of 4.

It just states what space you need on the frame to attach the pod. I don't think you need a bar.

Doesn't look like you need a bar. I think I'd prefer a buggy board though - less bulky. DS1 was 2 when DS2 arrived and he was fine with one.

Was thinking about a buggy board but my reasons for the pod is that if dd wants to sit she can and possibly sleep, if she wants to sit next to the baby she can and most of all (which is really bothering me) she doesn't feel pushed out IYKWIM.

LadyTophamHatt · 30/12/2005 20:47

OMG...would you really trust it to stay up/attached?
and what if it rains?

Get a double buggy.

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 20:47

I'm getting one of these. DS will be 21mo when this one arrives (am 38 weeks pg tomorrow) and there's no way he'll cope on a buggyboard.

Mymble · 30/12/2005 20:47

I've got a 2.4 yo and a 6 mo and I'd def go for one if I hadn't bought a phil + ted's. + might anyway.

I am so fed up with the putting one in a sling + the other in a pushchair thing (I think the 2nd child is too low to the cars in the phil + ted's, but have got 6 months use out of the cocoon thing)

I think maybe you can justify a buggypod on resale value grounds.

Also, double buggies are horrible to steer, esp when there's only one child in them!

Am deeply deeply tempted here.

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 20:48

It has a raincover. I don't want a double pushchair - no room for one in our house. Practical Parenting recently called it the best invention in ages or somesuch glowing claim. Actually, no, it's rubbish (don't want them all selling out so I can't have one, do I?!).
