Has anyone got a Bugpod and are they any good?

I've seen one advertised in M&B and I quite likes the look of it.

It would be cheaper than buying a double buggy and probably a better idea as dd will be nearly 3 when the new baby arrives but I still think she will still get tired when walking.

So do they actually work as well as what they show in the pictures?

Oh, and also you don't have to do the mad leaning over walk you do with a buggyboard.

Rubbish though - don't get one (till I've got one ).

Mymble · 30/12/2005 20:49

And don't get me started on buggyboards! Ds likes to do acrobatics on his.

Plus they keep breaking. Given that he is 2.4 and on the 9th percentile, this is a little worrying.

DS1 also used to curl up in the shopping basket!! Right up to when he was 4 LOL. Looked hilarious. Basket survived too which was even odder.

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 20:50

I figure that often when children don't want to walk any more they want to sit down properly. I know this doesn't recline, but it does everything else (and has the strapping in factor too which has to be a good thing for unruly running off children ).

Rubbish though - don't get one.

Mymble · 30/12/2005 20:51

LOL! With dd in the p+t cocoon, people keep asking me why I put my baby to sleep in the shopping basket! (one man did say it was a very good idea).

LadyTophamHatt · 30/12/2005 20:51

oh, ok raincover included.

But it still looks really.....can't think of the word.....odd/uncomfortable.
I'd be sooo worried that it would unattach.

LadyTophamHatt · 30/12/2005 20:53

(btw Odd/uncomfortable weren't the words I was trying to rememebr)

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 20:54

No less likely to unattach than a buggyboard - it does have its own wheel too.

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 20:55

Sorry, no more likely - I think. Blimey I'm tired!

Pollyanna · 30/12/2005 20:59

Apparently jojomamanbebe are going to do them this season (and you get 10% discount through MN...).

LadyTophamHatt · 30/12/2005 21:00

it's the one wheel that looks freaky to me.

I'll leave you ladies to admire them I think.

You're meant to all agree with me that they are wierd

although I might just back track a little and say that fold up well on the side, don't they?
still wierd though

FrenchKissUnderMistletoeGirl · 30/12/2005 21:32

oh dear

thought a bugpod was some new iPod accessory....

in my defence, dd is 6 and a half

Mymble · 30/12/2005 21:32

Don't suppose anyone's seen them for sale in London anywhere? Northwest London for preference.

I'm going there next week and would really like to try one out.

(None of the stockists actually list them on their website).

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 21:33

Think they're not out till January, but not sure when. Whereabouts in NW London are you?

Mymble · 30/12/2005 21:36

Going down to see my parents, who live in West Hampstead.

Have noticed there is a JoJo Maman Bebe in Temple Fortune, but they're not actually stocking them yet? Confused.

Pollyanna · 30/12/2005 21:45

I phoned Jojomamanbebe because they are listed as a stockist on the website - they told me they are going to be stocking it soon, in the new catalogue. I haven't seen it on the website though.

Mymble · 30/12/2005 21:52

Have noticed a drawback. They are not swivel wheeled.

Think I will have to try it out.

It seems that nowhere has them before January btw.

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 21:53

But the wheel is a back wheel - they're not usually swivelly?

Mymble · 30/12/2005 21:54

Explain, hm.

I am very untechnical.

hunkermunker · 30/12/2005 22:00

On a pushchair, the front wheels swivel and the back wheels are fixed. I think this wheel would act like a back wheel rather than a front one (ie it would guide the buggypod, rather than expect to steer it iyswim).
