My BF gave me a tub of it for my xmas and B'day present. It comes with a funny little spatula thingie but no instructions at all, obviously I know it's a cream so you just slap in on but it's really so think and gloopy that I wondered if there was a particular technique involved as I seemed to use so much in the first application.
I've heard lots of hype about this product and am expecting to look like Natalie Portman by the New Year

I use it and I LOVE IT!! you should have instructions basically scoop up small amount and melt it between fingers... ie soften it up a bit.. then I dot it over dface and neck.. I use it mainly on my problem areas round eyes, lines and dry bits and so this makes it last longer...

I find that there is no going back after CDLM -- I notice a huge difference in my skin when I use it.. if poverty drives me back to lesser creams, I seem to look more awful than ever..

vickiyumyum · 28/11/2005 10:45

ooh lucky you! i have no idea how to use it, i thought it was the same as regular moisturiser, except a little goes a long way and the spatula that come with it is to prevent the rest of the cream getting contaminated with germs form your hand to preserve the life of the cream.

maybe some other lucky person has it or maybe victoria beckham is amumsnetter and will comew along and help you.

at you with the cream though had always wanted to try it!

I've got to say, and I never thought I would, after just using it for one night the difference is astonishing, blackheads minimised, flaky bits around my nose gone and it feels so soft, or is it just the fact that I'm using something different?
Mind you I dread to think how much I must have used last night. Mancmum there were no instructions at all, funny though the packaging is so nasty compared to cheaper products.

Vicky are you outing yourself as Mrs Beckham then

Will soften it this evening then, the consistency was very lardy and it just felt different to anything else I had ever used.

I watched last night's Nip/Tuck and wondered about CDLM.
FYI if you didn't, the ex-wife of one of the plastic surgeons has opened a 'Recouperation Spa' called De La Mer, and they are launching a face cream with the active ingredient of...

SPERM!!!

is that why CDLM is so expensive then??

I will stick with Dermalogica I reckon.

dingdongmeggymooonhigh · 28/11/2005 11:06

PMSL, no I didn't catch it, oh lordy what a fab thought. CDLM smells lovely though

Am surprised that you got no instructions as mine have had them... but you do use less if you melt it otherwise like you say it is like lard... I love it... like you say you can see a difference almost over night.. it makes the lines round my eyes almost disappear ... am going to buy another pot soon I can make the large pot last 3-4 months so it is not THAT expensive... yeah right..

it might be worth going back to shop he bought it at as thy will give you a demo on how to use it..

NomDePlume · 28/11/2005 11:08

This thread has made me look up prices on eBay. Very tempted to get a small 7ml pot. £15 though, which is a bit steep.

mancmum · 28/11/2005 11:12

it is hugely expensive but I guess it will save me the price of a facelift later on!!

I like it as it makes my skin look great and so I don't need to put make up before I leave the house that saves me time and money and effort... so well worth the investment... and I will have my face for ever I would rather invest in that than spend loads of money of clothes or other things that I will throw out after a few months.. that is how I justify it!!

dingdongmeggymooonhigh · 28/11/2005 11:13

NDP, can't you get a tester pot?
I have had disaster skin and am genuinely very surprised.I wish I was like my sister she just uses soap and a cheap moisturiser! I can't use cheap stuff or I come out in blotches/flakey skin/rashes and spots I normally use Eve Lom/Clarins but my best friend wanted to treat me (and she did big time!)I wouldn't have bothered to buy it myself as I know it's very expensive - not sure eactly how expensive though.

Over £100 for the full sized pot !

mancmum · 28/11/2005 11:15

I use Eve Lom with CDLM... it works for me -- tragically nothing cheaper seems to!!

look away if you don't want to know how mcuh CDLM is...

Smallest pot is

£80!!

wouldn't dermabrasion be cheaper????

OP posts:
NomDePlume · 28/11/2005 11:17

HOLY JESUS ! A 500ml pot is over a GRAND

mancmum · 28/11/2005 11:17

guess it depends on what your skin issue is... I have used dermabrasion every now and then to perk skin up... CDLM is teh only moisturizer I use to make my skins look fab every day...

dingdongmeggymooonhigh · 28/11/2005 11:22

dingdongmeggymooonhigh · 28/11/2005 11:25

Oh balls am worrying that someone else will spend a fortune on it now and come out in hives!

OP posts:
NomDePlume · 28/11/2005 11:27

I'm tempted but no way can I justify £80+ on a tiny pot of face cream.

mancmum · 28/11/2005 11:27

no not loaded at all... brassic in fact... this is my 1 addiction and like I say, I don't spend muc money on clothes or make up -- this is my indulgence and cos it works, I just put it at the top of my 'me list'... I am now 40 and I think that it does help me look almost human...

you can buy it at John Lewis now...

my SIL did use it and did not think it was that great -- good but not amazing... guess it is all down to individuals skin... best to try a small pot before blowing the kids child allowance!!

Either buy a small tester pot from Ebay (from £5 - £15 not inc p&p) or trudge to your nearest stockist and beg a tester from them.
