My calendar has been crap this year. Need recommendations for a good one for next year.

I use electronic calenders and diaries too - mainly Outlook on my PC (home), my PDA (when out and about) and my laptop (work). I can synchronise them all via my little PDA so all are the same, which is fab!

Mind, I still have a little paper-based diary too for jotting things down in before transferring them electronically.

codswallop · 10/09/2003 22:14

Yes but you have to turn the thing on when you have amum on the phone wanting to arrnage something.

That's the beuaty of my PDA - on in an instant, and you just write using the little stylus pen (so no typing either).

Sunshowder - why don't you just print your Outlook diary and put it in a little folder. I do that for my lessons at school each week. You can print it off in loads of different formats.

sunchowder · 10/09/2003 22:17

Goodnight Coddy and everyone....my evening is just beginning now...

sunchowder · 10/09/2003 22:21

I do print it out, probably once a week, but I still keep a large calendar up with at least all of the family appointments on it, my outlook is a combo of work appointments and family appointments. What I love about the outlook calendar is that you can change the views from daily to weekly to monthly. It is good to see things a month at a time, I like it anyway--but there is never enough room on a paper monthly calendar for me to get it all in with the changes and cancellations, etc. Ta Ta for now.

Can you look at your Outlook calendar from another location? e.g. desk at work? My husband also uses Yahoo calendar so I can check what meetings he's got etc from home before making arrangements and I can make sure days off are respected by the rest of his office.

monkey · 11/09/2003 09:57

ihow do you get the yahoo/ any other good online calender? Can you print them out in filofax format?

sunchowder · 11/09/2003 13:48

My Microsoft Outlook package came with a Calendar feature. For anyone else on the "companies" network, I can check their schedule (if they turn on that feature) to see if they are available for an appointmentI can't see what it says on their calendar, but I can see if they are free at that time. You can send out an invitation using their email ID's, they can accept or reject the invitation, when they accept it automatically puts the entry onto their calendar and if you turn on reminders, your computer will bong and hiss to remind you 30 minutes, 15 minutes or whatever you set it to befor the appoinment occurs. I have something called cable modem here that is associated with what you call SkyI can be on the phone and using the computer at the same time. I imagine if you have to use the ame phone line for your computer, the online calendar might be a hassle. If you can log into your email from another computer, I don't see any reason why you could not access your calender.

I've got a nice big plain one with a month to view that goes on the wall, the Dodo pad got on my nerves by March last year.

Its a Collins Colplan memo calendar, no b*s**t, no fuss, lots of space to write in.

Enid · 11/09/2003 14:00

Theres a pic of it here

and click on 'Collins Colplan 2004 Memo Calendar Wirobound 297x420mm Ref CMC'

Look here to get to Yahoo, then look for the calendar option among the many listed. I think its better than the Outlook one although, as Sunchowder says, if you can acces your email from all other locations then it would function just as well.

Enid · 11/09/2003 17:04

Its not massive - but just about enough and there is a memo bit too. Each bit is about this big:

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

codswallop · 16/09/2003 09:44

Boots have their calendars in store now. That's what I use but they haven't had the same appeal since Boots stopped doing Country Companion ones.

codswallop · 06/10/2003 19:00

thanks - I have seen the one in Wh Smith too - very cheap and looks well laid out BUT have already bought one at M and S with a pen etc.
