I cant believe that there is anything on earth he/we needs. I dont want to buy for the sake of it and would rather putt the diff. into his bank account. Any ideas? Ds1 reckons he wants power rangers and I will not get those for a year old!

A few ideas from what ds enjoyed at 3

Something remote controlled - ds has a snowplough, Thomas the Tank engine (now defunct) and Fire engine. Toys r Us do a range of cars and monster trucks from aged 3 and up

Megasketcher type drawing board (some are themed to characters) - ours came with activity cards too

Brio Builder construction set (they do pirates, cars and space sets too )or what about a wooden road set (Plan toys or elc) if your elder son has the railway.

hope this helps

Codswallop, just get him a turtle and be done with it. What kind of mother are you?

codswallop · 14/08/2003 17:32

have discovered Gobots in the Index catalogue (turtle page already removed) age 3 up

Coddy - have emailed you back, just waiting for you to get back with your address. Missed tonight's post so next opportunity will be Monday, hope that won't be too late.

OK - got it - you should receive them by weekend?????

Very much an outside toy (unless you are not bothered about the kitchen floor getting wet). But my ds had a Brio waterway from his gran and he loves it. Look here if you are interested and there are also links to suppliers.

My ds hasn't stopped playing with his yet.

Think I may have been in a parallel universe for a while as when I first posted a message on this thread there were only three messages and now there seems to many more!!!!!!!!

very confused and going to get a glass of wine.....

How about a long-lasting garden toy? I'm sick of all the crap our 2 get - when one has a birthday, the other inevitably gets lots of pressies too (over-generous relatives, which I'm OK with, boys definitely Ok with, sends DH into rage, threatening to make a bonfire and burn all their stuff, esp when we have to cart it all back on plane with twice as many cases as we came with). No wonder ds2 calls it 'our birthday'. This time I've asked both sets of grandparents & great grandparents to give money for both boys' birthday & we're getting them a TP explorer climbing frame (like in ELC). Should last years & saves more soon-to-be-redundant rubish filling up the house.

Or a juniour Leappad? Not seen them but heard they're fun.

right we have got him a sleeping bag, a turtle battle shell(!), a pingu video, a Kipper book, and maybe a GOBOT from ds1 and also colours and a new cricket bat as the other one is falling apart (he is cricket mad).

all bits and pieces really.
