yes last month, mine has 4 rings, not five and they`re pink, purple, green and yellow with the base blue, let me know what you find out

kayleigh · 12/08/2003 15:22

I saw some in the large Tesco in Watford last week - but just phoned for you and they have all gone. She also said she has no water guns, no sprinklers - in fact she said she had nothing to do with water at all. I got the distinct impression this wasn't the first call she'd had on the subject.
Good luck lisalisa

kayleigh · 12/08/2003 15:49

lisalisa, there seems to be a 1.5m one in stock here for £39.99 - not sure if this is big enough for you ?

Lisalisa, I know it's $56 and the shipping is more than the pool but it is still works out at only £34 in Sterling. You're right though, ridiculous that you should have to order from the states.

lisalisa, we've been there a few times. in fact my boys are going tomorrow with our childminder!
Would really love to meet up sometime. Do you want to get my email from tech and we can arrange offline. Then we could post on the meet-up thread to see if anyone else wants to join us.

lisalisa- your children will love you forever! We bought a 15ft one last year and they love it. Couple of things to be aware of- the water is very cold, we bought a solar cover this year and that has really made a difference (was cheapest in french hypermarket). you can't really half fill them because its the water that gives the walls rigidity, the pool rises as you fill it, also the inlet/outlet holes for the filter pump are high up on the side and need to be submerged. Dead easy to set up if you have a flat garden, we dont and managed to locate filter holes at top of slope so that they are about 2" out of the water-bricks wrapped in towels to weight down the sides by the holes has salvaged that though. Can be tricky to keep water nice, tends to flip to yucky green overnight and need to be £6 worth of shock chlorine from poolman. I think its harder this year due to heat. All pool chemicals/chlorine teststrips are miles cheaper in France- worth remembering if you do a booze run. Hope you enjoy it- I got in with kids yesterday after sweaty zoo expedition and it was great.

they take ages and masses of water to fill, so you treat like swimming pool and just fill once a year. Thats why they come with a filter-thats needs to be plugged in for a few hours every day. Yes you need chemicals- chlorine on a regular basis plus test water with kit/strips so you know how much to put in, plus occasional shock treatments if water looks yucky. Water is cold cuz so much of it and cant add kettle water.
hope that helps

our pool takes 2000 gallons of water-a lot of kettles. takes about a day to fill. (have to admit help from DH on volumes- not my strong point). Its act.12ft (not 15ft) so bit bigger than yours but not that much.
With no chlorine water stays nice about a week then flips to a lovely green slimey mass.
The pool people dont make all this clear do they- was all a shock to me but have to say its worth it. I try to keep chlorine as low as possible-def lower than public pools.
I would still buy one again

kayleigh · 14/08/2003 10:23

lisalisa, i hope you're not cursing me now !
Are you still going to buy it?

Sorry, I am a bit late onto this thread but there is a shop near me with loads of paddling pools of various sizes. I could always post you one!

I know that they have some as mum had to buy a new one yesterday when her dog shredded hers. She likes to sit with her feet in it when drinking her gin and tonic!!!!!
