Can't afford a Pashley

I SO want a pashley princess (it's a very special kind of bike, handmade my elves from silk and gold judging by the price Hmm) but i shall never be able to afford one, even on ebay Sad

So, what is the name of that kind of old fashioned lady bike with a basket on the front so i can do a search for something similar but cheaper? i have searched 'ladies bike' and there are 43 thousand kinds, likewise 'ladies bike with basket'

is there a generic name like there is for a mountain bike / racing bike etc?

thank you

Thanks Grin He's looking for excuses, he thinks I'll look silly and wants me to have a 'normal looking' mountain bike, but where is the fun in that?! DS is only 2 1/2 so I'm sure pulling him down the road in a Croozer won't kill me Wink

You obviously need two bikes. A town bike and a country bike. Obvious really :D

Yes.... that does sound more sensible Wink I mean I'd hate to embarrass him in public so it's best I got a whole new bike to cycle with him Grin

I wonder how many nano seconds it'll take for him to come around to the Pashley now Hmm

strictlytory, I have Pashley precisely so I can't be expected to that kind of cycling! :o

puravida, sorry to make you green with envy. I do think you should save up/sell the dog to get one - it will be bring you so much happiness. People (well, men mostly) knock them because they are heavy and can't go fast, but they are so practical and sturdy - I load mine up with shopping and files and goodness knows what and it is always steady as a rock.

Even though my lovely generous DH bought mine for me, he does say that (a) I can never have another bike and (b) as the frame lasts a lifetime he expects me to still be riding it at 90!
