Vibrator and heart rate

This is embarrassing! I don't often use a vibrator but had some time to myself so thought I'd give it a try. I did manage to climax but it was a bit strange in that I didn't feel I had fully "arrived" if that makes sense. I tried for a bit longer to see if there was more to come but couldn't get any further. Now I'm trying to get on with some work but my heart rate is really high and won't come down! Everything feels very tingly down there and I feel very tense and clenched 🤦🏻‍♀️ has anyone had anything like this?? It kind of feels like it wasn't a full orgasm and so I haven't come down from it yet. What do I do??

It's put me off using the vibrator again!

A heart rate that is slow to return to normal, after any sort of activity which increases it, can be a sign of various health issues. See your GP.

GigiAnnna · 07/01/2024 14:45

I've been using vibrators regularly for about 15 years and can't say I've ever experienced this. Agree about getting checked over.

YouDefinitelyShouldNotDoThat · 07/01/2024 17:15

Thanks, I will do. I'm thinking it was something to do with the intensity of the vibration maybe. It doesn't have a setting low enough for me, so it's a bit much and perhaps just overstimulated me. Its coming down a bit now 🙏

Any sexual activity would increase your heart rate, so would running. If you are new to a vibey or used it for a more extended time, I would have thought this outcome quite likely.

On a related issue, if you had not fully arrived and your session was clitty focused, it might be a case of more pressure. It’s like driving a different car, you need time to get to know it.

Thank you for replying..it's been years since I used one, and the first time I'd used a bullet vibrator which I think was just too intense. When you say more pressure, you mean I should try more pressure with the vibrator rather than lighter pressure which is more buzzy? Sorry, don't know the terms! I think maybe I need to try a different toy entirely actually. I had a better orgasm with just fingers...

@YouDefinitelyShouldNotDoThat - I’m a bullet fan. I am a (regular) user, not an expert! I was suggesting holding it firmer to you.

But it’s a case of practice.

lf you have a waterproof one it can make bath time quite special.

Haha 😂 it is actually a waterproof one but I think it's just not for me. I think I might practice with something different. I'm still buzzing (and not in a great way) hours later, although my beart rate is thankfully back to normal now. Got to giggle 🤭

Heart rate shouldn’t stay high. See your GP, it could be a health problem.

PaintingPictures · 07/01/2024 21:09

A high heart rate only starting to come down hours later? No, that’s not likely or in any way normal.

Offwiththecircus · 07/01/2024 21:37

I trust there are no drugs/medications involved here OP.
Do you have the same effect after exercise/running etc?

No, definitely no drugs or anything. I had been for a 10k walk beforehand and am usually fine after running and exercise, so i definitely think it was the other activity! My heart rate is usually around 60 but it was staying around 90-100 for ages afterwards and I felt very tense and wired. I've had investigations before for idiopathic palpitations and they found no issue at all with my heart. I feel too embarrassed to tell GP what I was doing!
My lady parts still feel like they're buzzing now- I'm definitely not using the bullet again. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

mm
tricky if you've been checked out before.
but I would still get checked out - you can always tell a white lie about what activity produced it.
I'm no doc but seems to me a heart rate should return to normal pretty soon - only time I remember taking time was after running for a bus after some youthful one-time speed taking years an years ago. No more after that.

PaintingPictures · 08/01/2024 00:26

It’s not only heart issues directly that can cause it. It can be things like thyroid issues or diabetes that impacts the nervous system in a way that means your heart rate takes longer to go back to normal. I urge you to get checked as there are a number of things it could be that really shouldn’t be ignored.

WhatTheFuk · 12/01/2024 00:27

If you've had covid in the last 6-9 months it can cause these issues.

mnmnddddd · 13/01/2024 07:26

Your GP has heard it all before and more. Ask for a female GP and she's probably got a vibrator herself.

Anotherbloke1 · 13/01/2024 08:37

Maybe your concerns from feeling different down below (anxiety) played a part in your heart rate?

@YouDefinitelyShouldNotDoThat @mnmnddddd totally right. I’m sure she has one or quite a few herself! Especially if a lady, she’s got needs just like you and I do!

@YouDefinitelyShouldNotDoThat @StarlightLady Oh yes! Bath time is often very special for me with this! Only feel comfy enough saying this online haha so totally understand the original poster’s concern. Definitely tell GP, I’m sure she’s got a couple herself! Using a vibrator is becoming the new excercise class!

A bit inappropriate, though, to assume that because the doctor is a " lady" that she'll want to discuss a personal issue with a patient.

@Yozzer87 it takes a lot for me to say this, but you are completely incorrect here. A GP is a doctor and understands these needs and how normal they should be made in todays world. She has a health question that should be taken seriously because she was practicing an extremely normal thing! We are shamed for so much. We have needs as women just as much as those humans with a penis attached to them!

Please refrain from sending me stupid PMs. You're very immature and also very boring!

How are you going to explain to the doctor?

valentinka31 · 19/10/2024 06:55

This is why I don’t go near vibrators. Too intense.

There are plenty available with variable speeds.

Any speed is too strong for me.

I’m just better off with a live one. It’s enough for me. I was also a bit traumatised by my ex and vibrator. Violated a bit.
