Do you have sex when your teen DC are in the house?

A little bit light hearted but also an actual problem - My DH doesn’t like to have sex whilst our DC are in the house. DC are 14 and nearly 13 and it has been like this for the past few years which is really difficult. I try to reason that we would be quiet and discreet and would make sure that they are asleep first and even put a chair in front of the bedroom door just incase but he is having none of it (literally!) Is this what it is going to be like from now on now that the kids are older? Does anybody else have this problem or any helpful suggestions? I’m sick of having to wait until they are at school and I certainly don’t want to have to wait until September to have sex again!

How would this reduce the noise?

Stops the bed frame from creaking or hitting the wall.

I had to ask DH to stop last night as the bed was really creaking and he was in a rhythm. It really does spoil things when you both really need alone time and some relief after a stressful day.

At the moment we tend to spend the afternoon in bed and will have sex before the DC get in from school so we can make as much noise as we need to. It's much more enjoyable if they are all away out of to school.

Not anymore they both went to Uni last week, woohoo!!

My parents had a lock. At least it would keep kids out! My 13yo rarely leaves his room, but they know that if the door is shut there's probably something going on they don't want to know about, whether it's just being naked or sex. We are lucky that we work together from home, so sex is usually in the day as I can relax more (and I'm usually tired at night). However, it's also a reason we like going to kink clubs, as we can have sex there without any stress.

It's not something we've ever even thought about . The whole family even from a very young age always knock before entering another's bedroom. My husband still knocks on our door when he comes to bed !
We dtd at least 3 times a week just when we're in bed as normal ... although we do have a big house and dd is across another landing etc .
I remember in our old smaller house having to move the headboard away from the wall !

I would want a door lock. I'd rather teens know because of a locked door. Rather than walk in.
