Is anyone else waiting for that letter with bainted breath? I'm terrified DS won't get into his first choice and don't know what we'll do if he doesn't.

OP posts:

RoseWater - we are going through the statement process at the moment for ADHD and aspergers. Interesting to know we could get a school of our choice abit more likely.

Will be name changing too after this thread!

BigTillyMint · 01/03/2010 16:42

cc just realised that the letter is from the Head of DD's school, on the back of the LEA advert for the "School Preference Adviser" who is onhand to support if you are unhappy with your child's offer.

That gives me lots of hope

doglover · 01/03/2010 16:44

Does anyone know when Hampshire reveal all?!! Haven't heard anythng today so am assuming letters were posted today and we fnd out tomorrow?!!!

fruitshootsandheaves · 01/03/2010 16:51

Got my Email this morning at 6 minutes past 11

DD2 got into her first choice (not catchment), just as well really as I only put one school on the application form!

Good luck to those of you still waiting and good luck to anyone who is going to appeal.

summer111 · 01/03/2010 17:11

For those who live in London and applied online - check eadmissions again this evening. A couple of years ago we were able to get dd's school info, the evening before the 'official' posting. It enabled us to get a good nights sleep and spared us the 7am panic. Fingers crossed for all our dc's...

peanutbear · 01/03/2010 17:20

2boys2 I was in the exactly the same position and didnt get a suitable school we appealed using the statement process if the CRISP has been done and h has an IEP you stand lot more chance this can be started now before the appeal sits

Caoimhe · 01/03/2010 17:22

Agree with summer111, two years ago people were able to see the results in the early evening before D-Day.

titchy · 01/03/2010 17:26

London MNers - post here if you find out tonight!!!!!

teameric · 01/03/2010 17:35

Im in London but didn't apply online so will I find out by post tomorrow? I'm so anxious as getting into a half decent school round here is getting harder year by year

summer111 · 01/03/2010 17:51

teameric, yes I'm pretty sure the letters arrived on D-Day - I remember mums being at the school gates at home time, grasping the letters to show their dc's...

teamcullen · 01/03/2010 18:04

Nothing has came in the post for DS1 today.
None of the other DCs at DSs school had heard either, so another long wait tomorrow for me I think

teameric · 01/03/2010 18:07

same here, don't think I'll be getting much sleep tonight my cats not well either, I am uber stressed!!

OneMoreMum · 01/03/2010 18:11

Well email finally arrived (5.30 as I suspected).

Got our second choice, could have been a lot worse, not sure whether to try for waiting list / appeal though, will have to sleep on it perhaps.....

Good luck Londoners and those waiting for the post tomorrow.

RoseWater · 01/03/2010 18:23

2boys can I drag you here rather than us hijacking the whole thread please? Ta

Comfy · 01/03/2010 18:24

DD1 has been offered the renamed Academy while just across the road her classmate has been offered the better school that was our first choice.
Very, very annoyed. She is NOT going there.

jibbs · 01/03/2010 18:34

we have just had the email

woo hoo

we have our second choice which my DD is thrilled about

sb6699 · 01/03/2010 18:36

Still no e-mail here and council website has crashed.

Barnum · 01/03/2010 18:40

Does anyone know how to find results for Somerset online? I have tried the CC website but no joy - can't wait for the letter which will have been posted 2nd class today!!

GrungeBlobPrimpants · 01/03/2010 19:09

Cat64, there was a glitch on the Birmingham and Kent systems that allowed you to see the results a couple of days ago if youclicked printer firendly view. If you take a look on elevenplusforum.co.uk in the Birmingham sectionyou'll see what I mean

MsDav · 01/03/2010 19:23

sorry thats elevenplusexams.co.uk

ShellingPeas · 01/03/2010 19:27

Am so pleased that DS got his choice. It has been such a highly competitive year this year for the West Kent grammars. Phew! I can now partake of wine with glee.

4madboys · 01/03/2010 20:03

well we were meant to get an email today from norfolk county council telling us what school ds had a place at and havent got one, not impressed.

have spoken to a couple of other mums in the same situation, we all applied online and were meant to get an email and havent done.

the county offices open at 8am and i WILL be on the phone at 8am demanding an explanation and to be told what school he has been allocated.

Harrycaitandtedsmummy · 01/03/2010 20:22
