Who else finds out about their dc's secondary school place next week ??

We find out via email on Monday. Emails will be sent at 00:01 but it will take some time for them to get through a list I suppose.

I am really nervous about it even though we are in catchment and should be ok.

Dd didn't agree with the school I put for 2nd choice though so her reaction will not be good if she doesn't get first choice.

Yes will appeal along with everyone else. I need to check that if I appeal I won't lose my allocated school, as it is still better than others around.

Can't believe I'm posting on 'Secondary Education. SS1 has got in to the Cherwell. She's not happy about it (wanted to go to a Catholic school in Cowley) but I'm dancing .... Any others' news?

I've had my email - no joy . Never mind, will look into appeals. Just not looking forward to telling ds when I collect him from school.

moodyblue, I feel for you. We will probably be in the same position, but still no email. We've set DD's expectation that she won't get into school of choice, but still dreading it becoming a reality.

I know, we've been saying 'you probably wont get in' for months but he has set his heart on it! I'm just reminding myself about all the things I liked about our second choice school which we have been allocated. It's not great results wise but is quite a small, friendly school and has the advantage that he'd be able to walk there. I just need to find out where his friends are going now but there has been a wall of silence on the subject for the last few months!!

we're in the same boat. We live in a selective area. DD didn't get in to grammar, all her friends did. She's capable enough for grammar, as bright as many who passed, but didn't pull it off on the day. Our first choice high school would cater better for her academically and she actually preferred it to the grammar school anyway. She will be gutted if she doesn't get in there, having not shed a tear about not getting into grammar. Hope your DS takes it ok and expect you and I will speak again about appeals in the next few days/weeks

We can log on to edadmissionsn from 8.30 tomorrow morning or wait until the letter arrives aboout 10ish!!! I am now officially sh..... myself over this we live innner London Borough so the choice is limited to say the least - good luck everyone

the only thing I know for sure is letter tomorrow but other parents have said email today if we applied online. I can't keep away from the computer, but it's my only day off this week and have a ton of things to do. Someone tell me to get off the computer and do other things! Sitting here hitting the receive button won't change the outcome!!

I am still sitting waiting for the email to arrive too. I have been at work all morning and even took my bike so I could get home quicker and nada.

Hey all - great for those who got what they wanted. Our letters are posted out today - Monday (1st class they said), so hope the postman puts in an appearance at a decent hour tomorrow. Don't think I've seen him yet today (now lunchtime!). We hope for 1st choice, but are only a feeder school so fully expect 2nd choice (being the catchment). Dd is very upset that she may have to go to different school than majority of friends, but we will go on waiting list and see what happens. Roll on tomorrow.....

HE GOT IN!!!!!!!!!!!! Into one of the best schools in the areas!!!!!!!

That is my second bit of good news today.

Ours are posted today, so won't find out till tomorrow. Literally feeling sick!! Wish I could just fast forward till tomorrow!! As I applied on-line I can find out on the website at 9am tomorrow morning but I bet it will crash with everyone logging on!!

just had an email through from Eadmissions but it wasnt the result just telling us we could log on tomorrow - I am getting into a right tizzy now feel sick want a drink you name I am every cliche under the sun!!

Eadmissions is down until then and emails are coming out at the same time apparently.
