KS4 to KS5 flightpath?

Is there such thing? I can find loads of flightpaths online, ks2 to ks3, ks3 to ks4, but I cannot find anything similar for ks4 to ks5?
Does anyone know where I can find info regarding GCSE grades and predicted a-levels (based on average gcses), for example a student with an average GCSE grade 4 is likely to achieve xxx at a-level and so on.

Thing is, it depends on the specific A level choices surely? A student with a 4 in maths but an 8 in French will probably do well in French - but less so in maths.

That's probably why there isn't one. An average grade of 4 where grades are 334444455 probably won't lead to very high A levels at all (see other threads). Otoh an average of 4 where grades are 224444677 (does that average to 4???) woukd be fine if the A,levels were the 677. I guess that's an unlikely profile. So if the student has a consistent pattern of 4s, then yes, so evothercroute than A levels is a good idea.

another route than A levels

My DS is at sixth form college and they use Minimum Expected Grades (MEG) which are calculated from average GCSE scores (I think the system is called ALPs). As his GCSE grade average was 6.7 his MEG is set at a B but it is rather a blunt tool as his profile is very spiky. He actually got 998 in his A level subjects so he will be aiming for top grades in his A levels and his (lack of) ability in French is irrelevant.

I think a 4 average for GCSE would be looking at MEG of D but I think it's just a general guess.

There was an old thread started by @noblegiraffe where it shows what A-Level result you can expect based on your GCSE, but it is only for Maths.

Are you looking for something similar for other subjects? I don't have any other information but it would interesting.

How on earth @IThinkIMadeItWorse don't they use only his GCSEs grades which are the same as his A-Levels?? I agree with you, it doesn't make any sense Confused

I'd think a 4 at GCSE would be looking at a U at A Level. Students getting 4s would be ill advised to take A Levels unless there were mitigating circumstances.
