Hello all, this thread continues from the previous "Upcoming Girl's Independent SW London Schools 11+ Exams" thread set up by @Oceane11Plus.

@PatoPato cleverly noticed, message slots were running low for the epic long thread as above, so all chat now continues here...

I reread and I think u were asking which one I’m keen for and it is WHS as it is the local school .
DD asks me every day if the waitlist has moved .

BlackRainbow2020 · 11/02/2021 21:29

@Trialsat11
We will give up a place at PHS on Monday. Good luck to you, and I hope you hear from them same day

NoToMisogyny · 11/02/2021 21:37

Just wondering - will it be possible to accept/ decline places over half term, or will nothing happen until afterwards?

2atschool · 11/02/2021 21:58

@Trialsat11

I would think there will be very little movement until the state school deadline so probably best just to tell your daughter she won’t hear until then and then if you do it will be a bonus! DD got her WHS place the day after the state schools came out as did 3 of her friends.

You will be able to accept places over half term- some are done electronically eg LU.

Good luck for tomorrow those who are still waiting for results.

Singingrain1223 · 11/02/2021 21:59

@NoToMisogyny , deposit payments are accepted anytime! The school offices may be unmanned but you can send back all the paperwork and make the payment or send an email to decline a place.

NoToMisogyny · 11/02/2021 22:04

That’s great to know, thank you!

Stircrazyschoolmum · 11/02/2021 22:06

@Trialsat11 we will give up WHS on Mon and know someone who is sitting on WHS, PHS, LEH and surbiton but wants nonsuch so hang in there.. things will move.xx

Trialsat11 · 11/02/2021 22:30

@Stircrazyschoolmum I wish I could swap as we have the score for a Nonsuch OOC . Sometimes it is so strange- Wish it was just a simple barter system like olden days

WarmAndco3y · 11/02/2021 23:50

@Trialsat11 funny you ‘say’ that, life has a strange way of happening. We also have the score above nonsuch OOC ( although we put Wally girls as our first choice). DD2’s scores slightly better than DD1 and DD1 was offered a place. And we would gladly swap too Smile
Anyway, for now we continue to sit tight, hope and pray for good news.
Came on to wish everyone waiting tomorrow all the best. What a journey!!!

Are there any current LEH parents here? What is the pastoral side like? There has historically been a reputation for being very ‘driven’ shall we say. Very competitive and perhaps a bit less gentle. I don’t get that feeling from watching the Q&A or the open day. Is the over competitive reputation unjustified? I felt that Mrs Hamburg seemed very inspiring and down to earth.

Normalisboring · 12/02/2021 08:06

Hanbury, stupid autocorrect....

Yellownotblue · 12/02/2021 08:21

@Normalisboring, my DD is in year 7 (Thirds) at LEH.

I had also heard of the school’s reputation, but I don’t find it competitive at all. I think the reputation for being uber driven was made under the previous heads. Mrs Hanbury is great and I certainly don’t get a competitive vibe from her. I don’t know if I would say the school is gentle, but that’s not an adjective I would use to describe any selective school. It doesn’t feel like a pressure cooker.

The parents generally seem like a normal bunch - not too much tiger parenting as far as I can see - and DD has made lots of friends. The girls have a weekly movie night on zoom and they spend a lot of time chatting and doing their homework together online. They seem like a happy bunch.

Oceane11Plus · 12/02/2021 08:41

Just checked on the Francis Holland SS portal and it says DD has been offered a place!
I wish all of you the best for today, and hope things do start moving very soon for those on WL.

Normalisboring · 12/02/2021 08:41

That is really helpful, thank you. Zoom movie night sounds lovely.

Stircrazyschoolmum · 12/02/2021 08:44

Emanuel email just landed.. it’s an offer!

Iamsodone · 12/02/2021 08:45

Emanuel is sending offers by email now.

Oceane11Plus · 12/02/2021 08:46

Congratulations @Stircrazyschoolmum, one more offer in your bag Grin

DrRamsesEmerson · 12/02/2021 08:52

Congratulations @Stircrazyschoolmum! Still nothing from LU, resigned to it being a no.

Flossietea · 12/02/2021 08:53

Congrats @oceane11Plus! Our portal hasn’t updated yet for FHSS. I keep checking! We’ve already accepted a place at LEH but I’m still curious.

stellagibbons · 12/02/2021 08:59

Congratulations @Oceane11Plus and @Stircrazyschoolmum !

Gladtidings1 · 12/02/2021 09:22

Well done to everyone and good luck for those on waiting lists. We're waiting for KGS today. Argh! Worse than waiting for your own A level results! Fingers crossed for all

DrRamsesEmerson · 12/02/2021 09:46

Am I the only one on here waiting for LU?

Brot64 · 12/02/2021 09:46

It's an offer for us too from Emanuel. Still waiting for a few today.

Oceane11Plus · 12/02/2021 09:48

We have now received the email from FHSS, a very lovely email highlighting her performance at the interview. I'm sure it's a standard email and everyone with an offer got the same but it's nonetheless nice for her to read it.

croosader · 12/02/2021 10:00

KGS email is out. Good luck Gladtidings1.
