Thanks @LittleBlackBear - she actually had her interview today and it went well apparently, much better than her initial interview! No idea whether it was enough, but she feels she gave a good account of herself!

@Stircrazyschoolmum - I also wonder whether it'll be harder to work out whether they'll get a place by September as the grammar tests and 11+ were sat so late this year that results weren't out by the time the CAF was submitted. Graveney was actually our second state choice as it's not the best journey for us - but DH is very keen.

How was the St Pauls Girls/SPGS online written exam experience? I guess all interviews are done now?

Hello again, I’ve been poorly hence being AWOL.

Came back to wish the Alleyn’s crew @Stircrazyschoolmum and @Tr0ubled, I think, all the best with interviews tomorrow.

My DD passed Kent and the Sutton grammars. It will be interesting to see the outcome we did put Wally girls as our first choice on CAF. Her scores are pretty similar to my older DD so will be interesting to see what happens.
I’m really not sure what to make of ISEB, DD got a pretty decent academic scholarship on the back of this. But didn’t make Alleyn’s 2nd round, which I know is a very selective school. And I guess being co-Ed makes it that more difficult. Roll on 11th of February, I just don’t know what to think and having wobbly days every now and then.
We are really on the home stretch now. All the best, as we wait.

@WarmAndco3y - sorry you've been unwell. Congratulations on your DD passing the Kent grammars! I suspect that with the grammars and the superselective states the initial scores required to get in on offer day will be higher this year as everyone applied blind in October, but that the waiting lists will move pretty substantially by September as people choose schools - just my theory!

I'm coming round to the idea that ISEB actually worked to DD's advantage - we certainly worked harder at VR/ NVR than we would have done otherwise and we were able to concentrate on covering the Yr 5 maths work she'd missed.

Best of luck for tomorrow @Tr0ubled I seem to remember it’s one of DD’s favourites? Really struggling to get mine do anything today.. she is done with homeschooling, done with interviews and exams and done with trying to show enthusiasm for schools she’s never been too.. I have to confess she has my sympathy!!

Yes , offers coming in by snail mail. Nervous as this was DD’s first exam after the holidays and not sure if she was back in the rhythm !

@Trialsat11 all the best stalking the postie, it’s not the best of ‘fun’ things to do. But so worth it when you get the news you want. I have funny stories from my other DC, most especially my eldest. I’m sure our postie things I’m loopy

My DD is pretty anxious as she likes the school a lot, although has never actually been there!!
This is the last hurdle for us. Can’t wait for it to be done.

The postie brought us a big Surbiton envelope! Whoop whoop. DD very happy.

Managed to ambush our postman and dd has an offer from Surbiton High. Hooray! A big relief. It is super handy for us and a good option although still waiting for a result from 3 other schools (including KGS which is also very handy for us and which we really liked). Such a relief to have something in hand. Good luck to those waiting and stalking the postman!

Thank you @warmandco3y! (Not sure how to do the @!) Wishing you the best of luck too! Definitely a contender for us. It's a good school, we know people who are happy with it and we're local so it would make life logistically pretty easy which counts for a lot I think. It's really nice just having a possible future to think about and get excited about for her given everything else that's going on tbh!

It seems to have gone well. Really lovely interviewers and no tech issues. DD is bouncing round the house on a high!

Lovely to hear of offers coming through.. well done all! Have any schools discussed what they are doing to sway the minds of offer holders?

Great news about the Surbiton offers - wonderful to have something concrete and to start imagine future possibilities!

We finished this week too so now waiting... Finding it tricky, especially without being able to do the usual things that would help with distraction.

We had interview today too. Does anyone know typically how many get to this stage v how many get in?

Well the postman kept me on my toes all day but FINALLY delivered a big envelope from Surbiton at 3:30pm. Big relief - DD’s first offer. So glad to have one!
