We just want our kids in school. Please. If at all possible.

And driving lessons. And good Mental Health. And happiness.

In-and-amongst all this Covid nightmare and lockdown debacle.

Eww - that sounds like a good idea, he hasn't had a new stick for a couple of years and has grown in that time. Might treat him to a new gun shield too Grin. Sports gear is quite often what we end up buying now. Like the racing suit we bought DD for swimming this time last year that has only been worn twice Sad. Luckily she hasn't grown as they are so tight-fitting. I should add that we aren't looking to spend a fortune this year as he had an Ipad last year and a phone for Christmas.

YY to repeating a year being a bad idea at this age - what a nightmare for the year 11s and 13s.

Regarding the new thread, do you think it's time we relocated to the FE board rather than Secondary?

EwwSprouts · 28/01/2021 17:28

I'm not thinking about DS's gum shield EnvyEnvy (not envy)

@EssentiallyDelighted - if he likes football and does not have it, would subbuteo be too babyish? My brother used to love it, and some adults like a bit of retro fun. A very popular game more aimed at that age range is cards against humanity - I find it challengingly poor taste, but the rest of the family like it!

Thanks OrangeCinnamon for new thread.

He probably would like Subbuteo - he has been given various table football games at times in the past but it is a faff setting it all up and putting it away again as we only have a small kitchen table which is needed all day every day as a home office as well as for eating off. One side is pushed up against a wall too. I love our house but it is a bit poky. Also no friends to play it with at the moment.

He probably would like Cards Against Humanity, as would DD but she's only just turned 15, maybe a bit young? I quite like the sound of it myself Smile. Ah, a quick google has turned up a family friendly version, I'm thinking try that and maybe progress when DD is a bit older.

Essentially-
In my extended family and several others I know, dyslexia, dyspraxia, and Asperger’s appear closely associated. For example, my late father had several Asperger’s traits. My brother had dyslexia. I probably had dyspraxia, and was diagnosed with Asperger’s at forty. I’d like to see more research on this.
