Do you let your DC do homework (on laptop) in their bedroom?

Or only downstairs where you can keep an eye on what they're doing?

I've got controls on the computers etc, bought them each a light portable laptop. I do get sick of the endless homework related clutter that mounts every evening and is never properly cleared away. We so often eat our dinner on a table that's scattered with books, stationery, laptops etc.

But if I send them up to their rooms I feel like I'm limiting our 'togetherness'. Not sure I'm making sense but both get tons of homework, their school is crazy.

Thank you

Nope, downstairs only using the family laptop! DS very easily distracted - too often i'd go upstairs and find him playing games online so downstairs works for us as I can keep half an eye on what he's spending time on. Really depends though - my eldest would just get on with it and set aside study time upstairs!

DS1 has his own laptop and so does it upstairs in his room. We have never had any problems with non handed in homework.
Ds2, a year younger, has to use the family PC downstairs - we really should get him a laptop, but he is constantly distracted by youtube so for now, this works for us. We still have issues with him getting work in on time!

I do not understand the clearing away homework mess thing though - all of ours - even my youngest in primary - is set and completed online!

A combination. DS is studying for his GCSEs and sometimes wants some peace and quiet, other time he wants to do it on the sofa
