Here we are again Grin

OP posts:
bizzey · 14/05/2019 18:23

Well i came on here to find out how Biology as all i got was a grumpy "fine" !!.

3 cups of tea later and some food we spoke.
I asked him if he got a diabetes or salamander question?
He said no why would i.
I said what did you get..he replied..
GONORRHEA !!.
Hthen asked me questions about it which Icould not answer.!

Off now to google...wonder what automatic ads are going to pop up now with this in my search history !😁😁

KittyMcKitty · 14/05/2019 18:29

bizzey I think gonorrhoea may have been Edexcel Smile

TabbyStar · 14/05/2019 18:32

DD came home googling axolotls, though I couldn't get out of her what she thought the answer was! She seemed quite happy with the paper. Last year it was carrots that threw them I seem to remember!

pointythings · 14/05/2019 18:34

DD2 did mention the axolotl. Didn't throw her, she knew what one was.

doublechocadooberry · 14/05/2019 18:41

DS saying exactly the same about feeling there were some strange questions. DS currently googling now and feeling less and less confident about his answers. Lots of questions on things he hasn't covered; pancreatic cancer, diabetes, weird question about fish and gills. Oh well, onward and upward.

Felt French went better than he expected.

gleegeek · 14/05/2019 18:46

Dd has a virtual pet axolotl which she says didn't help answer the question but it made her smileSmile
French listening was easier than the mock apparently so that's good I guess. The reading was a bit strange, whatever that means?!
Dd is shattered! Says she forgot to listen for a bit in the listeningShock

ILoveYou3000 · 14/05/2019 18:52

Double what paper/board did your son do?

chocolateworshipper · 14/05/2019 19:07

Edexcel Foundation Biology here - DD thought it was better than she expected - so a good sign

AndAnotherName · 14/05/2019 19:33

oh just to say DS said he did answered diabetes questions apart from the cell into water (or something) question.

he also told me how he answered a question which is a correct answer but maybe not quite what they wanted to know. he thought it was funny though🤦.
DS is quite relaxed at the moment and not stressing which I thought was good, until he told that.

Iambuffy · 14/05/2019 19:37

Honestly, no clue how ds1 has done.

He seems fairly laid back.

He would like to replicate his mock results.

🤞

doublechocadooberry · 14/05/2019 19:46

Biology AQA. he thinks there was a monoclonal antibody question which stumped him also.

raspberryrippleicecream · 14/05/2019 20:46

Ds2 had the axolotl question and thinks he answered it ok.

I've just had to ask him what his books are because I'd forgotten. I knew Macbeth because we took him to see it. He has that and A Christmas Carol tomorrow, and Never Let Me go next week.

Iambuffy · 14/05/2019 20:50

Oh, I loved never let me go!

mychildrenarebarmy · 14/05/2019 21:23

ILoveYou3000 - my daughter is also looking forward to the English Lit (English is her real strength). I have also been priming myself because is prone to anxiety and panic attacks but like yours seems surprisingly calm so far. I’m wondering if she did herself a favour by getting so massively worked up about the mocks and got it all out of her system. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

D0ubleTheJoy · 14/05/2019 21:25

I've no idea which boards mine are sitting, but French and Biology went ok apparently.

However, major argument with each other and meltdown tonight over poetry revision. Sigh. Thank goodness the wine is flowing freely for me and DH.

mychildrenarebarmy · 14/05/2019 21:25

Oh, and DD said she never wants to see another axolotl. Ever. So, obviously I’m about to show her the piano playing link. 😁

Iambuffy · 14/05/2019 21:26

I've just provided water and flapjacks!

I'm leaving him to it!

Greeborising · 14/05/2019 21:39

Well, we had a very glorious hour earlier searching for prose notes for tomorrow’s exam 😳
It was hideous!
Dd was getting into a state , I was trying to stay calm and help look.
Thank God we found them!

Iambuffy · 14/05/2019 21:43

Ds2 has been "helpfully" showing ds1 the salamander pokemon 🤣🤣

He's finished revising now and is on the phone to his friend.

ILoveYou3000 · 14/05/2019 22:01

mychildren That's my hope too. She actually said earlier that she thinks she got so stressed about mocks, she's not feeling it this time. She is feeling nervous about tomorrow, but not stressed. So, like you, I'm keeping my fingers firmly crossed 🤞🏼

Good luck to you daughter.

What texts are all your children doing?

DD has Macbeth and Sign of the Four tomorrow, then Never Let Me Go next week along with Love and Relationships for poetry.

moobaadoublequackdoublequack · 14/05/2019 22:09

DS has J&H, Merchant of Venice and Lord of the flies

I had a username malfunction earlier

Iambuffy · 14/05/2019 22:10

Ds1 has merchant of venice (not Macbeth!) and animal farm tomorrow.

Then J&H and love and relationship poems next week.

Moobaadoublequackdoublequack · 14/05/2019 22:15

and power and conflict for poems.

MollyButton · 14/05/2019 22:43

Hi!
DD did AQA Biology, and thought it pretty easy. Lots on Osmosis. She wasn't phased by diabetes either. Has English tomorrow Jekyll and Hyde (I hate the song from the Arthur cartoon) and MacBeth.
We had massive nerves before but today went okay.

She also moaned that AQA seem to have a limited repertoire of stock images, she'd even seen the Axolotl on past papers.

Iambuffy · 15/05/2019 06:20

Hope all the DC have good days today.

It's the dreaded eng lit paper 1! Ds just doesn't care about PE anymore and tbh I can't blame him.
