My grammar was off kilter on my last post - for someone with a degree in English Literature 'tis slightly embarrassing!!

Disclaimer - It was 1992!

Eve they do say the first marks for an answer are the easiest to get so hopefully he got more on the 40 marker than he thinks. At least you have the weekend to try and put it into perspective and build his confidence for next week, as what is done it done and all that........Anyway best of luck for his exams next week.

mmzz he forgot. He's got other things in his mind. Don't worry.

GettinTrimmer yes, DS is ok. His bullying stopped a couple of years ago. Its just it went on for such a long time and part of it was picking on anyone who engaged with DS, that the other boys just fell out of the habit of thinking of him at all, and socially, he has never been able to recover.

If English went ok today, then i think he can go to the new sixth form and I'm hoping the fresh start will turn out to be the best thing that could have happened to him.

oh, sorry, I've just realised I'm not following the conversation properly. I was thinking about bullying again.

I suspect Ds will just have better things to do than bother to let me know. If I'm still alive in 30 years ish time, when its his turn to be the parent, i will remind him of this!

All the best for all historians after English this morning. DD reasonably happy with this morning's paper, but not sure she got the higher level analysis. She has just left for history, having brought a friend home for lunch and an impromptu revision session.

Cramming required over the weekend for next history paper and all 3 sciences...then still got dance, food and German to go.

Work is really getting in the way of my thread-reading!

Reservoir I often read and don't respond, but I do feel like we're all a supportive community and even though I've never personally met any of the other posters on this thread, it's just so nice to know that we're all in this GCSE mallarky together!

mmzz the momentum has definitely halted slowed for DD who has one final exam next Thursday afternoon. Then we are off for a nice family weekend away. Prom dress shopping and a movie this weekend - it's nice to feel that the rest of us can go out and enjoy some fun activities without the constant presence of revision hanging over DDs head.

I'll be looking out for goodbye's DC in the news this August - I've never heard of any student being predicted ALL 9s (weren't there only 4 students in the UK who achieved this last year?) so I'm in absolute awe of this kind of intellect and work ethic!
