so here's the thing, having a major whinge to all daytime idlers out there bless you lol..Smile

Been going on this walking club on and off since 2004, nice people, lovely countryside.. suddenly all this anger comes out of nowhere towards me because I have started for the last 18 months to take a little terrier out with me. Dog needs exercise and I can't own a dog where I'm living so...good arrangement, happy days Smile only one day a week so fine.

Some of these peeps are angry because of perceived minor annoyances due to dog: danger that he might actually look at them while they are pigging out on posh foodie grub (has never happened) shock horror Shock that he might run occasionally and maybe bark at the odd bird or two Confused

All this discontent because their cosy selfish spoilt routine is viewed as being in danger of being disrupted.

What do I do about their attitude please ? Can i ever change it or are they too set in their cosy selfish attitudes ? Its also crazy because the dog is under control at all times and is a really sweet boy Star

Expect many of you have encountered these kinds of attitudes for one reason or another. Fight or walk away ?Angry
cheers Smile

I am a daytime idler too. With a dog. If your club is near me I will come on the next walk with my dog? I am in East Scotland so the chances of being nearby are fairly slim but you never know!

NerrSnerr · 16/03/2017 16:11

But what have they actually said to you? Have they formally told you not to bring the dog?

wavingfuriously · 16/03/2017 16:12

Merry ..well i've 'ad to pick up the lingo innit

OP: AIBU?

MN : No idea. Haven't a clue what you're talking about.

OP: IANBU!

MN: Confused

WindwardCircle · 16/03/2017 16:16

If dogs are welcome and you're being made to feel unwelcome it's possibly not the dog that's the issue...

wavingfuriously · 16/03/2017 16:16

haha ha ha ...laffed out loud!

OP posts:
AYankinSpanx · 16/03/2017 16:17

made you all laugh anyways !smile

Not really. The bits that aren't baffling are a bit sneery and mean-spirited.

wavingfuriously · 16/03/2017 16:19

i don't know ..

OP posts:
SilverBirchWithout · 16/03/2017 16:19

If you have been taking the dog for 18 months, why has this suddenly come to head? Has something untoward happened?

I'm not a great lover of dogs, (smell, slobber and poo put me off) but I wouldn't object unless it barked a lot and ran up to me.

TheRollingCrone · 16/03/2017 16:19

What? I'm sorry OP I don't have the foggiest turgid working class brain what in God's name are you on about? Confused

wavingfuriously · 16/03/2017 16:20

no they've all said i would be welcomed with open arms without dog.

blow that, this dog's a rescue, really needs the exercise and i'm very fond of him - love seeing him enjoying the walk countryside etc,,

OP posts:
SenseiWoo · 16/03/2017 16:21

I think the dog is a stalking horse.

Fruitcocktail6 · 16/03/2017 16:22

Are you drunk?

wavingfuriously · 16/03/2017 16:23

Silver ...whats happened is that a different person is now leading the walks..but he overstepping the mark laying down laws like this

OP posts:
Renaissance2017 · 16/03/2017 16:23

If you've been walking with them for 13 years surely you know the people well enough for it not to be a drama?

I much prefer walking on my own. You're more than welcome to join me and my very working class terrier (he puts his elbows on the table and reads the Socialist Worker). We tend to stop for a scotch egg and flask of tea. I try to maintain my middle class standing by doing the Times crossword during our break. The terrier is a whizz at the anagrams.....

wavingfuriously · 16/03/2017 16:24

AYank - why don't you go elsewhere then ?
go away

All this from people i considered 'sane'"^

So you have come onto a different, public forum to make nasty comments and have a hissy fit. How is your behaviour any better than theirs?

wavingfuriously · 16/03/2017 16:25

Renaissance that is an offer not to be sniffed at

OP posts:
Renaissance2017 · 16/03/2017 16:26

My terrier sniffs at everything! Told you he was common!!

SilverBirchWithout · 16/03/2017 16:26

Has the club got a constitution and written rules? Or is it fairly informal? Has this new leader discussed what his specific issues are directly with you?
