jvee suggest you start you own thread rather than posting on this one.

Dc4 and Spaniel are both pretty stinky here.My sisters house smells of scented candles.....Ours definitely doesn't.Have 3 more kids.Daren't think how many more years of exam fever I have to endure.Worse thing is two of mine have to do common entrance so I have an extra two years of it.With a sort of special hell reserved for the mother of a Dyslexic child.
In latest AS news I really don't like my eldest at the moment : and Vice Versa.

HSMMaCM · 11/05/2016 15:32

DD has made as many plans as possible to avoid coming home revise with friends this week and weekend.

I agree that this has taken over our lives for too long. Next year ds will have A levels and then we're done. My dining room has been taken over and the bedroom walls are plastered in posters. Four weeks and it will all be over for this year at least.

Horsemad · 11/05/2016 17:00

Yep, after next year when DS2 does his A2, I won't know what to do with myself! Grin My house will be tidy, and holidays will be booked IN TERM TIME!!! Woohoo Smile

dingit · 11/05/2016 18:12

We are already planning a holiday at the end of June after GCSEs and A Levels. Just waiting to see when the proms will be. Don't think it will be much cheaper, but it's just that we can Smile

HSMMaCM · 11/05/2016 20:35

DD has quit her job so she has more time to revise. Yeah right ! How soon before she asks for money and is sadly disappointed Grin

Waves to everyone.

How's it going?

Both my two have an exam on Monday morning. DD is panicking that she's not prepared but DS just wants to get started to get them over with.

dingit · 13/05/2016 10:00

Dd goes on study leave today. She has her last maths tutoring tonight, then going to a party. No work tomorrow, thank goodness. First exam Wednesday.
We've booked open days for Bath Bristol and Surrey at last!

aginghippy · 13/05/2016 10:05

DD has revision fatigue Wink

She is doing maths and fm, so there is not much content to revise, just lots of practice with past papers. She is fed up with doing endless past papers. I have to give her credit though, she is still persevering. Right now she is doing a chemistry past paper for a bit of light relief Grin

TeenAndTween · 13/05/2016 11:12

DD's only doing the one AS (alongside her BTEC) so only has one exam.
But it will be 3hrs 7mins long!! (2.5hrs plus 25% extra time).
She gets to 'stand and stretch' but really she could do with a proper rest break part way through, but she can't have that.

And because of the BTEC, she's not getting proper study leave. I'm going to write and ask permission for her to miss her BTEC sessions the day before her exam and then keep her at home even if they say no

HSMMaCM · 13/05/2016 11:40

Wow 3 hours t&r! DD's are all 90 minutes. She is also carrying on with btec alongside them.

TeenAndTween · 13/05/2016 11:51

The annoying thing is that the first 45 (or 56 in DD's case) is separately timed (listening test, and headphones removed after the time), so I sort of think that could have been done as a separate exam, which would have made a big difference for DD.

How much revision for 1 AS only? I can't work out if DD is doing sufficient or not.

bigTillyMint · 13/05/2016 12:13

Gosh, T&T, that is long!

DD has 2 on Monday - Economics and Psychology. She is very anxious and panicking, so we are trying to keep her calm (though I failed somewhat this morning when she snapped at me)
No study leave at all, but she has been off sick (anxiety is MUCH worse when in school because of teachers making stupid comments about how hard they should be working/doing practice tests, etc) and has been revising at home/doing past papers/getting us to test her.

LittlehumHams · 13/05/2016 14:30

Only one exam for dd3 next week. She seems quite calm at the moment.

HSMMaCM · 13/05/2016 14:41

Only 1 exam for DD next week. Monday afternoon.

GetAHaircutCarl · 13/05/2016 17:08

BigTilly DS has economics on Monday too.

ono40 · 13/05/2016 18:42

DS went on study leave today for a month. Two exams next week, both internal/school exams. History is a bit of a beast though at 135 minutes, had to double check that one. Two internals the following week, then half term, then the two AS that actually count, roll on 9th June.

Lol at aginghippy's DC doing chemistry papers as light relief!

At least SATS are over.

Auntpetunia2015 · 14/05/2016 08:06

Well hello, your DC all seem so much more on this than DS first exam is Monday he's adamant he's done all his revision I really hope so as I've been so off my game with everything else going on that I've not been as on him as I should have.

bigTillyMint · 14/05/2016 09:42

Hi AuntP! Good Luck to your DS (is he doing Eco or Psych?) - they are HIS exams and it is up to HIM to do his revision. No feeling guilty!

Fairenuff · 14/05/2016 09:50

Ds has Psychology exam tomorrow then two others on Thursday. His are all quite close together which is a shame. I think he's prepared. I have to remind myself that they are 'only' AS exams, there is whole year to get grades up for the final exams.

It will be ok. (Repeat as necessary Grin)

HSMMaCM · 14/05/2016 10:10

Waves to fairenuff - psychology tomorrow here too. DD is spending today at college rehearsing her drama piece!

OP posts:
LittleHouseOnTheShelf · 14/05/2016 10:19

dingit - snap! We are going to all three as well.

WhatAm1doing · 14/05/2016 11:39

Yes btm psychology tomorrow, thanks for the wise words, they are his exams and I really hope he's done enough but if he hasn't then he's the one going to have to resit or recinsider, I'm trying to get my head back in place this weekend so this thread will keep me sane! Or send me over the edge when I look at how much everyone else's dc's are doing.
