Lovely photo hsm

The hells Angels escort were the most fun arrivals. A couple of monster trucks and the normal limos and posh cars.

Another lovely pic *HSMMaCM Smile Just dropped DS at the 'after' party, God I hope they aren't too rowdy!

Horsemad · 27/06/2015 00:02

DS was in a navy suit with brown shoes. Grin Most of the boys tonight had black suits and shoes. They all looked smart though!

Ashbeeee · 27/06/2015 06:33

Loving all the pics.
How lovely it is to share in all the planning, tarting up, plotting, trying on, squeezing into, adapting, finding blister plasters, etc. So much more exciting than when I was that age - I just left school. Literally, just left (was glad to leave actually) and never went back. It's been demolished now. Yay! Awful, weird grammar school place it was.

LineRunner · 27/06/2015 07:11

Ashbee, we had a 'school disco' which was spectacularly crap in the school hall. Grin

LynetteScavo · 27/06/2015 08:02

We had nothing...just exams then most people started their YTS. Life was just so dull back then finding out what was number one on a Sunday night was the highlight if the week.

I've really enjoyed my first taste of prom. Grin

In the car on the way home DSs friend told DH they hasn't been able to "connect with the music because it was all 2015 pop".

And they were seated at table according to register place...luckily DS and his friends surname begin with the same letter!

dingit · 27/06/2015 08:16

Dd loved her prom. When we arrived to pick up there was not a space on the dance floor, even the teachers were having a bop.

She declared a clutch bag the most useless invention in the world Smile
Her art teacher came up to tell her although she couldn't tell her her grade, she got the highest in the class. ( that's not to say they all might have been shite)

poppym12 · 27/06/2015 11:39

Son came home a couple of hours ago. his dad's gone out and thankfully Ds is still coming with me at lunchtime to see a birthday relative. he hardly spoke and went off up to his room saying he was going to sleep. I'm trying to keep bright and breezy as if none of this is bothering me but really, Wtf have I done to make things so awful and strained?

poppym12 · 27/06/2015 11:41

I'll bet your daughter is looking forward to results day now dingit. Great news.

OddBoots · 27/06/2015 11:47

Oh Poppy, I am so glad he has come home for however long. I think you are right to keep things light and pick your battles but don't let him break the boundaries, it is likely he is not upset with you, he is just pushing and testing as they all do at that stage to see what he can get away with.

If you can maintain as much of a united front as possible with his dad it should all work itself out in the next little while.

HSMMaCM · 27/06/2015 12:59

Hope your day goes ok poppy. You're doing the right thing.

Just caching up. Beautiful DDs in their Prom dresses and good to hear your DS is back Poppy, even if it's only a visit.

auntpetunia · 27/06/2015 17:44

Popping back on after a week of no exams. Been a busy week. DS was 16 on Monday then Wednesday him and DH went off camping and to watch cricket and go fishing. They're just back and DS looks so relaxed and rested it was obviously the right thing to do. But now he's stopping coz I keep asking about what he did/saw and all he wants to do is switch the computer on!! Can you imagine the nerve of me wanting a conversation Confused

All the girls look gorgeous in their prom dresses, prom heren is 10th July and 6th form induction day is 8th so much later than many.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/06/2015 18:56

Lovely to hear about your their proms. Smile

We've had an interesting couple of days at b'ham and Loughborough open days. The talks and lab tours have made DD even more enthused, and the students and staff were really helpful, we've all got a much better idea of what's entailed in elec/elec eng degrees now. We also looked round the physics dept at b'ham as DD wanted to get a feel for that too and it's a really good dept. But also the demos were in the lab where DH and I met long ago in our first year subsidiary physics labs. Grin And we had a little walk round chemistry for old times sake. Standing by the board where they posted finals results it seemed like yesterday but also a lifetime ago. Weird but good.

Horsemad · 27/06/2015 19:42

I really loved B'ham when we looked around at their open day last year.

spudmasher · 27/06/2015 21:05

Turning 'Promzilla' here. Give me strength.

HSMMaCM · 27/06/2015 22:32

You will survive spud Grin

DD still hasn't returned from las nights prom. Having too much fun with her friends. I am desperate for her to come home and tell me al the prom gossip, but I'll let her have some fun while she can.

friends parents are lovely

Sounds like she's having a ball.....maybe she'll return tomorrow with all the news. Like butterflies emerging, bless them!

Ashbeeee · 28/06/2015 09:26

Dd is loving the post exam freedom. Party on Friday, shopping Saturday and theatre in London with boyf last night (just the 2 of them, how sweet). She is looking tired though!

HSMMaCM · 28/06/2015 14:04

Sad That's ages HSMM

Sparklingbrook · 28/06/2015 15:10

Not to be a downer or owt but been looking at this thread and a bit. Sad

JugglingFromHereToThere · 28/06/2015 15:28

Does seem ages when you put it like that HSM - but I guess it will soon be here, especially as we have a few summer trips planned before then

JugglingFromHereToThere · 28/06/2015 15:39

Regarding that other thread Sparkling (about A level choices and Uni requirements for courses) I think just shows now is a good time for ours to be thinking about these things.
What does your DS want to do? What are your concerns?
