i asked why - of course - but only when it 'slipped' out that he wasn't in classes all day.

i hadn't been informed or anything

he says its becuase he was calling his friend ( one of those best friends you go and stay with at weekends then fallout with then are best friends again and on and on ) names

well they must hae been bad names says i

i was racist - says he.

i am not pontificating in pc mumsnet way - just for you becuase your reading this - but seriously i take muchio dim view on bigotted and racist comments.

obviously concerned i phoned school. and said " i hear hezus was taken out of lessons for being racist"

no mrs custardo, he was taken out for punching him in the middle of maths but he was racist.

hezus told me that the lad called him a ................"manchester united fan"

( worthy of a good kicking in my personal view for such an insult)

my son said there then ensued an argument and he was kicked in the balls.

important here to note that hezus did say he has previously made racist comments but they did not form part of this fracas

when i told teacher about kicking in balls incident she said that MR teacher didn't mention the kickin in balls incident.

when told son this - he said bet friend said he would get his mum to ring in becuase hezus was being racist?

i have asked for best friend, his mum and dad to come into school and meet with hezus, myself and MR custardo then no one can lie.

i have doled out punishment for racist comments.

my concerns are that my son did not know why he was taken out of class - he thought it was becuase he was being racist - instead of what it actually sounds like - which is mutual thuggary in middle of class.

i also think school are being overly sensative with regards to race issue and therefore have punished my son and not the other kid.

now my son deserved punishment - i would have loved to be involved int hw whole process actually - give me the ruler - i'll whack his scrawny arse - but on a fair and balanced note
i want other kid to be punished to - and i want everyone EVRYONE concerned - teachers, kid, kids parents - to know that i will not put up with injustice

what do you think?

let me get this right...

A called B a "Man U fan"
B retaliated (and used a racist term)
A and B got into a FIGHT in a maths lesson, A kicked B in balls, and B punched A.... and only B was excluded?

How old are they? Sounds like they are as bad as each other, and should both be punished equally, if your little angel has been picked on, then you're right to feel aggrieved!

Tortington · 09/11/2006 14:20

no racist term was used during this fracas.

however hezus did use racist term a few weeks ago.

this is being mentioned now?

yes they are as bad as each other -

school should bang their heads together, or smack their bottoms

Tortington · 09/11/2006 14:28

your right.

OP posts:
JanH · 09/11/2006 14:28

I does sound as if they should both be punished, but I would wait and see what comes out of meeting with best friend and parents (should be fun) before demanding justice for all - I have been caught a few times by economical-with-truth children

tissy · 09/11/2006 14:29

or you could ALL get into a fight

I'd put my money on you!

beckybrastraps · 09/11/2006 14:29

I'm confused.
I wonder if the school is too.

tissy · 09/11/2006 14:32

two lads, presumably hormone-fuelled teenagers get into a scrap.

Make them pick up litter in the playground, or better still, clean the girls' toilets (including filling the tampon machine)...

Custardo we had a scenario almost identical to this with dss(17). Except the the school suspended him on the word of some kids in his class who said he muttered a racist comment under his breath at them but they were making it up because they had fallen out with him. All of a sudden all the black kids in his school( we are in South London) wanted to kill him( he was almost attacked in the school yard and had to be saved by the teachers)and the school suspended him. There was a huge fracas and the school seemed to be happy to sacrifice dss instead of upsetting the racial status quo in the school.
Eventually one nice young black fellow from an older year, who had a lot of influence on the younger kids got the original two to admit that they had made it up and dss was allowed back to school.
I was furious with the school, they were so so wrong in the way they handled this situation. I hope your ds's school are fairer.

WhizzBangCaligula · 09/11/2006 14:51

Custy you're right.

CountessDracula · 09/11/2006 14:54

what does hezus mean?

Hallgerda · 09/11/2006 15:21

custardo, you need to talk to the school. Whatever your son had done, taking him out of classes for a whole day without informing you is completely off. And it sounds as if the school has treated him unfairly.

Carmenere, that's terrible .

WhizzBangCaligula · 09/11/2006 15:36

Not very surprising though. They get so jittery when racism is mentioned, they lose all their common sense and inquiring faculties.

MarsLady · 09/11/2006 15:42

I would imagine that hezsus is custy's DS!

DS1 and 1 of his best mates got into one last year. Both in Y8 at the time. DS1 (mixed race) BM (asian). Both used words that will not be repeated! The school called me to tell me what had gone on with DS1 and how he was being punished. I asked if BM was also being punished and the Head of Year told me that he was but that that was a confidential matter (in other words... I wouldn't tell his mother what I'm doing with your DS and I won't tell you what I'm doing with hers).

Like you custy..... there will be NONE of that tolerated in the Mars household and I don't care who started what!

It's a shame that school didn't involve you at the beginning.... but if it comes down to an all out fight between you all.......

I'll hold your coat!

ScummyMummy · 09/11/2006 15:50

Oh how joyous the joys to come... Calling him a man u fan was seriously provocative, wasn't it? Not surprised a fight ensued. Hope everyone calms down and becomes bezzie mates again asap.

WhizzBangCaligula · 09/11/2006 15:50

I don't think some people appreciate the seriousness of the Man Utd insult...

Tortington · 09/11/2006 21:16

have got to bottom of incident and written a long letter with big words - my kids are muchio impressed!

there was no fracas in class -it was out of class - which is slightly better than mid class thuggery.

other lad deffo started it

no racist comments were said at this time

so my letter basically says - sure punish my son - but punish the other kid too.

other kid bringing up something said a couple of weeks ago ( it was wrong i know it was wrong i am not defending it) to score points and get my son in trouble.

i ask school to take on board the wider context. cant have the kid suddenly mega upset by something said over 2 weeks ago becuase he want to get my son in trouble becuase they fell out - not on says i.

my kid is not muchio thug - the other kid kicked him in the balls before my son hit him in the SIDE ( not head)

i accuse school of not doing proper investigation becuase someone said the "r" word

will not have my lovely boy accused of such things. he is knobhead of highest order - but not prone to violence in any way unless someone muchio shows him up. ( his twin sister can beat the shit out of him - and does) hes not a fighter. so thuggery was real shock.

didn't mention the Man u accusation - seriously out of order

said to son
" am not bothered if they hang you out the top floor by your little toe - as long as they do it to the other kid too"

fairs fair

JoolsToo · 09/11/2006 21:26

I'll probably get shot down for this but I think kids of that age using racist words is a bit like yoofs in my day saying 'f*ck'. They know it's wrong and daring but I don't think it makes them racist.

PS I hope his little toe can take his full body weight.

WideWebWitch · 09/11/2006 21:31

Hezus = Jesus with 'correct' Spanish pronounciation, no?

Custy, I'll hold yer coat too. Hope the school respond appropriately.

tigermoth · 09/11/2006 21:37

The other boy should definitely not be let off scott free as it does seem to have been a joint effort. Impossible to say who said or did what exactly but I can't believe the other boy is blameless so not fair if he has no punishment.

Sorry its taking up your time and headspace custardo and hope you can get to a point where your son feels the school acted fairly to both him and the other boy. Think you did the right thing by writing that letter.

ghosty · 09/11/2006 21:46

"will not have my lovely boy accused of such things. he is knobhead of highest order"

Priceless ....

Custy - why are your comments not made 'quote of the week' every week??????

I love you.

Sounds like they need to employ Custardo consutancy to review their disciplinary policy.

twinsetandpearls · 09/11/2006 23:28

I though mid class thuggerry meant middle class thuggery! was imagining kids ripping each other boden attire and insulting each other over the wrong choice of broadsheet!
