I have only had a brief text from DD saying Latin went well with a big happy smiley! Oh and that she was going to do a bit of Physics revison this afternoon for tomorrow.

Any one else have any Latin feedback?

funambulist · 19/05/2015 15:52

My DS had Geography this afternoon and seems reasonably happy with how it went. Physics tomorrow for him as well and then Maths on Thursday.

funambulist · 19/05/2015 15:59

Woolly just scrolled back to the previous page to see your DD wasn't feeling well going into Geography. I hope it's gone well. I'm sure you're right to encourage her to have a go, the exam boards will make allowances as long as you and the school keep them up to date with what's happening. At least by doing what she can she's giving them some kind of basis to make a judgement on. Keeping my fingers crossed for her. How many more exams does she have before the half term break?

AmazingDisgrace · 19/05/2015 16:23

DS not happy with Geography as he missed the 8 marker on the back of the paper gahhhhhh!

SugarPlumTree · 19/05/2015 16:31

I think Woolly that your DD has shown a very mature attitude to this amd if she hadn't have felt sh could have given it a shot would have said. Very hard for you as a Mum but think you did the right thing encouraging her. You poor thing, you must be emotionally exhausted FlowersFlowersFlowers

As expected DD struggled with Geography but not one we are relying on her passing. Friend text to say her DD came out of it in tears. DD said a lot of people found it hard.

tbtc · 19/05/2015 16:34

DS looking forward to physics tomorrow. Strange lad.

QOD · 19/05/2015 16:52

Dd found geography very hard. Target B and predicted A but said it was awful

LynetteScavo · 19/05/2015 16:57

DS doesn't seem too pleased with Geography. He wants to do it for Alevel. Luckily his geography teacher likes DS and has said he'll let him do it even if he gets a C. Fingers crossed for the next Geog paper!

mummytime · 19/05/2015 17:10

Geography - okay here, but an odd "ice" question. If she does well she might do it for A'level, but if not...

bigTillyMint · 19/05/2015 17:24

Oh Woolly, your poor DD and youSad

JugglingFromHereToThere · 19/05/2015 17:27

dd came out of geography quite pleased - almost finished it - kind of did! Smile
I think afternoon exams quite suit her - hopefully do because she has physics tomorrow afternoon

stayathomegardener · 19/05/2015 17:51

AQA Drama OK though part C was tough, new rules meant you had to write about three parts of the production and DD assumed they would be three diferent scenes not three parts of one scene so all her prep was a bit skewed.
AQA Geography good but not many case studies, DD only put one in and apparently could have used two.

Woolly's DD's trials put all the woes here into perspective! Hope her Geography went OK Woolly.

SoupDragon · 19/05/2015 18:10

DS said Geography was hard but OK and that "everybody" found it hard.

Littleham · 19/05/2015 18:15

Well folks, I'm going to go with Primal Screaming. Grin Which is your favourite?

auntpetunia · 19/05/2015 18:15

Oh my after reading disgrace comment I've asked if DS did all the questions. Without actually saying did you look on the last page! He's happy he did it all, but I'm panicking. DS thinks both exams drama and geography went well which considering his geography teacher is crap is good.

Woolley hope DD is ok and that you're all coping as a family xx

stayathomegardener · 19/05/2015 18:23

Micro Pigs!

DS quite enjoyed the Latin though he mistranslated one word so as to change the sentence's meaning entirely.

Geography was OK - I think he spotted the question on the back in time as he said he'd been putting off doing the coastal question and found a question he'd missed so he could put off doing coastal for a bit longer. Such a shame for your DS, Amazing.

And I hope DDWoolly was OK in Geography in the end. I am impressed she went and did it.

DS a bit nervous about Herodotus in Greek tomorrow.

bigTillyMint · 19/05/2015 19:39

Why doesn't it suggestWine for the poor parents?!

I'd go with puppies. I am sure DD would tooSmile

Horsemad · 19/05/2015 19:42

I'd have to go for Shetland ponies, puppies and primal screaming in that order Grin

CoffeeBeanie · 19/05/2015 20:26

I'd go for the reptiles. Bearded dragons, snakes, the lot.

That bouncy castle looks good, too.

Questions on the back of those papers, who invented that? I've never seen it.
Woolly, hope your DD's ok.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 19/05/2015 20:43

Micro pigs looked quite cute but bouncy castle or ball pool could be fun Smile
And yes Wine for parents a good call Tilly - though we have some nice pineapple and coconut tonight just need some rum Smile

Tried to offer DD food, but she's already been asleep for half an hour. I won't say anything if I hear her creeping into the kitchen later.

DD1 is at Leicester uni. I'll ask her if the bouncy castle works but she's a traditionalist - alcohol and denial all the way (like her mum) Grin. I'd prefer to stroke a cat rather than a puppy - but one of my children is allergic to fur you guessed it - it's DD2

She managed 45 minutes in geography and attempted all but the final question. I think that takes her over the 50% of the qualification with her coursework so if she doesn't feel well enough for the second paper after half term then we're still good for a final grade.

I started a thread in Chat asking for advice about tomorrow's Physics paper. Does anyone know if she sits it and does badly would it bring her grade down compared with giving her a final grade based on the grades from Biology/Chemistry/Practical sat before her illness? I don't want to make her sit it unnecessarily if it can give her an extra day to rest before Maths on Thursday.

Good luck to all DC sitting Physics and any other subjects tomorrow.
