Dd I'd panicking about English at the mo. Apparently they've only done 1.prsvtice of the style of paper or something as their teacher was obsessed with the igcse additional paler they all took.
She's coping OK but ridiculously revising if you ask me Confused
Reading notes on the way to school and revising at lunch and all evening. She's not just last minuting either she's done it all year.
Christ I hope she gets the results she wants

Ashbeeee · 14/05/2015 06:24

Amazingdisgrace I refer you back to my previous post.

Enjoy.

I had never realised how important it is that the DC like their teachers till mine started secondary (despite not taking A'level English because I hated my O'level teacher)

Good Luck to all the Chemistry takers. DD did it last year, thank God! She has Citizenship this afternoon.

Ashbee, that link is addictive!

CoffeeBeanie · 14/05/2015 07:16

Good luck to all the Chemistry students today!

DD outwardly cool and collected, probably a mess inside.

auntpetunia · 14/05/2015 07:34

Ds has been up since 6 going over his chemistry, despite telling me it's only core, he's determined to get a good score a chemistry was he one that he felt he'd done badly in in the mocks with a C, he's outwardly calm now, but I can see his jaw working as he mutters chemical names to himself. I just keep telling him it'll all be over by 10.30 and then he hasn't got an exam till Monday when it's English Lit higher.

Good luck to everyone doing exams today and to the mums and dads. See you all back here tonight for exam dissection Grin

HSMMaCM · 14/05/2015 07:47

Chemistry for DD. she seems overly relaxed about it, particularly as its her weakest subject.

dingit · 14/05/2015 07:57

Checking in. Good luck to everyone doing chemistry, I wish dds was this week.
Are all your dc tired? Dd was almost on her knees yesterday, she had no exams, but a 2 hour revision session for maths at college, then they stuffed them full of dominos pizza.
Just citizenship today, I'm picking her up by car as it's going to pour with rain ( they normally walk, only 10 mins), but tiny things like this help.
Roll on half term and the start of study leave.

Horsemad · 14/05/2015 08:00

Good Morning and Good Luck Everyone!
Chen (DS2) and Maths (DS1) here today...

OddBoots · 14/05/2015 08:05

I think ds is tired, he said he thought it was Friday today.

He has chemistry this morning but then nothing until Monday (English lit) then nothing again until Friday (English lit again), he has a History revision morning at school on Saturday.

TheWordFactory · 14/05/2015 08:05

Good luck everyone.
Both of mine are quite chilled about today. Ate a six pack of crepes between 'em.

TheWordFactory · 14/05/2015 08:06

Both said they very much like going to school part time and think it should be A Thing.

I was telling my boys about being allowed to take the papers out with you afterwards. I found mine a few years ago but they have disappeared again. Pretty pink ones for my O levels which were mainly London board and a mixture of pink and duck egg for A levels which were a combination of London and AEB.

Trufflethewuffle · 14/05/2015 08:43

DS2 has chemistry this morning and Spanish tomorrow and that's the most intensive week over as he has had one each day this week.

DS1 started his AS exams yesterday with maths but nothing else till Tuesday.

We are surviving. There seem to be a lot of chocolate wrappers and ice cream tubs, empty of course, around the place.

TranquilityofSolitude · 14/05/2015 08:49

DD has Chemistry this morning. I can't believe how tired and stressed she is. It's so awful to witness. Yesterday she sobbed all the way home in the car because DD1 had eaten the stuff she wanted for tea at lunchtime! Thankfully she was able to laugh about it later, but I could see just how exhausted she was.

HSMMaCM · 14/05/2015 09:01

There was "nothing to eat" in our house last night, because we didn't have strawberry corner yoghurts. I'll get some today and she'll probably want something else

Yes food and sleep seem to be key components in surviving the exams. And that's just me!

LotusLight · 14/05/2015 09:05

Both my twins say chemistry if their worst subject so I think we have low hopes but let us see. Apparently it's hard because you can't guess.

Everyone is very calm. For 4 years it's been like living in a peaceful trappist monastery at times here. I don't think with the first 3 children it was like that.

JugglingFromHereToThere · 14/05/2015 09:11

Just dropped dd off for Chemistry this morning.
At least that's me done for the week now!
Apart from picking her up at 11, but that's the easy bit, well, has been OK so far
Hope it's a nice paper and she answers all the questions!
Good luck to all Brew

AmazingDisgrace · 14/05/2015 09:24

Thanks Ashbeee. I'm off to work now where not much actual work will occur as I'll be too busy slapping Gove Grin

Littleham · 14/05/2015 09:35

DD3 was a different person today - happy, polite and chilled out about Chemistry. I think her meltdown yesterday morning must have been a combination of tiredness, lack of food and essay phobia. House is stacked out with her favourite foods, plus of course Birthday Cake. Smile

Fingers crossed for the Chemistry exams.

TheWoollybacksWife · 14/05/2015 10:15

Sounds much better Littleham. Cake is always good

Chemistry should be over now. I'm heading out in a few minutes to pick DD2 up. She was a bit nervous this morning but no worse than usual and she has been hammering chemistry with her tutor. God help us if it was a bad paper as this was the one topic in the three sciences that she was most confident about.

She mucked out her pit tidied her bedroom yesterday and I have just been in to dust and hoover and strip her bed. I don't know if the tidying was a distraction technique or a genuine effort to try and get her desk in some sort of order but it looks so much better this morning. She is excused her chores until the exams are over so this was very welcome from my point of view - although the laundry basket is suspiciously full this morning, so I don't know if any of the 'floordrobe' made it into her drawers or just went straight back in the wash Grin

JugglingFromHereToThere · 14/05/2015 10:16

Happy Birthday Little dd Smile

AmazingDisgrace · 14/05/2015 10:24

Happy Birthday Littleham junior :)

I can't remember what exam it is tomorrow.. English Lit? Anyone? I actually wish it was another of his least favoured subjects to get another potential crappy day out of the way. He made the fatal error of looking on the Student Room yesterday after the Maths AS and is now far less confident about it.

Sparklingbrook · 14/05/2015 10:25

DS1 was v quiet in the car on the way to school. Really hoping the Chemistry went ok.

Just the Leavers Assembly this afternoon and he's all done, Next one Monday-English.
