We have put an out of catchment school as first choice. Second choice is our catchment school. Some years we would get into our first choice, some years we would not. So we are anxiously awaiting the email...

tiggytape thank you for the advice, I will definitely do that if needs be. Keeping everything crossed until Monday.

18yearstooold · 26/02/2015 18:28

I'm in Leeds and just got the email

What we expected, just earlier!

CheekyBanana · 26/02/2015 18:40

Thanks for ciggie company. I didn't actually smoke it in the end, so I've stuck it behind my ear for now. So feel for various stress triggers and analysing of the analysis at work. Am pissed off also cos some mums cryptically hinting that they know already - one of them a TA at the school and another is a govenor. I refused to bite or believe it (doing my best to fake insousance, while seething inside) but now another poster says she was 'told', I'm newly quivering once more!! This is so shit!!! AAAAAAARRRGGHH!! Aaaaanyway, what will be will be, and our dcs will thrive wherever school they end up going to...right??

CheekyBanana · 26/02/2015 18:42

That's great your wait is over - a nice early surprise. Hope it's what you wanted. X

sunnydayinmay · 26/02/2015 18:56

Cheeky - I'm a governor and have absolutely no idea. And I've helped in school this week. The subject is being well and truly avoided and the Head is hiding in the stock cupboard. Grin

CheekyBanana · 26/02/2015 19:01

Thanks Sunny; that's cheered me up slightly. Only one hour before ds bedtime, then I can reach for the gin. Yay!

letch · 26/02/2015 19:26

I'm nervously waiting - as we also applied out of catchment. Annoyingly, we're only 0.4 miles out of catchment, but it's over the county border, so we've got to wait.
Thankfully our council publishes the info on the website at 12:01 so I will be checking then.

I'm nervous for DD now as she's really hoping to go there, but if not she'll hopefully get our catchment school with her friends.

Good luck to everyone waiting - not long now!

CitronVert · 26/02/2015 20:28

I'm in Leeds to and have just had the email. Got our first choice although I wasn't worried as I knew DS would get in on sibling rule (DD already there)

Flossiechops · 26/02/2015 20:35

Citron were you expecting yours on Monday? How fab to be told early - with Birmingham would follow suit Confused

Flossiechops · 26/02/2015 20:35

'Wish'

CitronVert · 26/02/2015 20:45

YY was expecting to hear just after midnight on Monday. The email for DDs offer 2 years ago arrived at 12.07am.

fedupbutfine · 26/02/2015 21:26

oh hell.. I don't want to say where I am but I did an online admissions form. The email receipt says we will get an e-mail tomorrow. I just logged into the account, however, and it says 1st. Arrggghhh!!!

To stay up and hope it comes in at 12:01 or just go to bed now?!

Seems bizarre people are getting results early.
I just really hope everyone gets a place they are happy with.

motorwaymadness · 26/02/2015 23:09

we expect to get ours just after midnight on sunday night/monday morning

CheekyBanana · 27/02/2015 04:34

Seriously, this is making me soooo ill. Can't even call it a complete nightmare cos I'm not managing to get any sleep!!! Am I the only one???

Flossiechops · 27/02/2015 05:04

Cheeky I've just woke up with a pounding heart having dreamt dd got offered a school not on our list with a terrible reputation. Bloody hell this is stressful!

CheekyBanana · 27/02/2015 07:00

Omg Flossie, you dreamt my dream!! It follows me everywhere and feels like it's haunting me. I'm going stir crazy! I think I'm going to need therapy - whatever the outcome. Genuinely. I don't remember being this anxious ever, not even when in labour or during childbirth!!!!

CheekyBanana · 27/02/2015 07:02

Sending positive vibes to everyone. Fingers crossed for emails that arrive today; hope it's good news all the way!!

Flossiechops · 27/02/2015 07:05

Cheeky I know what you mean. For primary school we lived very close to school so no stress there. Senior school seems a far bigger deal probably because dd has a very set idea of where she wants to go & all her friends will be going. Worst thing is we moved house last summer 0.5 miles further away from the school knowing it was a risk. Now I think we were mad! I'm sure it will work out and like others have said there are still 6 months until they start & lots of movement on the lists. Its a shame they don't announce them today as they already know Confused

CheekyBanana · 27/02/2015 07:29

You're right, of course and I must keep that in mind. Gosh I remember the dates debacle of last year.

However, now been suitably distracted with Brokenpicturegate!! No one broke it, seemingly, so I'm now holding court and gathering the evidence from my dcs. I will then deliver my verdict in due course. Grin Never a dull moment!!

ButterflyUpSoHigh · 27/02/2015 07:56

Sending good luck to you all. We were here last year. My Dd was given 3rd choice school. We appealed for 1st choice which tookover my life. We had no chance they heard nearly 100 appeals and none were successful. My Dd started the 3rd choice school. It was ok but not perfect. We then got offered 1st choice some months later. Things can change in an instant. Smile

minifingers · 27/02/2015 08:38

I'm regretting having even put down my fourth choice, because if ds gets it I'll go into a proper depression just seeing it written down that he's been allocated it. It was stupid of me to list it: I've got no intention of sending ds there (put him on a waiting list and home educate in preference) and I can't remember what my rationale was for putting it down. I think it might have been that I was having a wobble about only putting three schools down, two of which are VERY oversubscribed.
