Get well soon mumslife yeah stay well clear from those threads can make your blood boil. When I go stalking on the student room threads Grin I've noticed when they have their little disagreements you dont often see them getting very personal in a vindictive manner, well not on the uni related threads I go to. In fact sometimes you do see them console each other as they can see the stress there under and its making them agitated or they find a middle ground and agree to disagree. They can let go of things, forgive and forget a lot easier.
horsemad hope your enjoying Nottingham still my favourite out of my dd choices though that might change when we go to bristol.

Littleham · 14/02/2015 16:19

My dd really enjoyed the offer holder day today. One down three to go!

Which department are you gong to see at York NiceCardigan? Don't worry about the other threads.

Sorry to hear you are having a tough time mumslife. Good idea to avoid conflict.

NiceCardigan · 14/02/2015 16:26

Sending good wishes mumslife

We had a good day at Nott'm. It was very similar to the Open Day format, but in addition we had a campus tour of the main campus.

When we arrived home I asked DS was he still glad he'd insured Nott'm. His answer? 'Indifferent really' Shock

They are so infuriating at times Mumslife, aren't they?! Angry

< Wishing I could bypass this and just watch them graduate!!! Lightweight Mother!>

circular · 15/02/2015 19:35

Glad your DD still really likes UEA Mumslife and hope you're coping OK with your DFs illness.

Everything seeming very real now with s many decisions being made.

Think its all been a bit much for DD, missed 2nd applicant day as wasn't feeling up to it, (not sure if she will rebook) and will probably cancel 3rd. Mocks went quite badly, and she's doing no work and very little music practise, just wants to either chat to friends on line or sleep all the time.
Hoping it's just temporary exhaustion rather than total loss of interest or worse.

bobs123 · 15/02/2015 19:59

Yes I think a lot of them are feeling the same at the moment just really tired. This uni process really takes it out of them and there seems to be a bit of a cba mentality.

DD2 has now cancelled her 2nd offer day at Sheffield as it's not between Soton & Newcastle. Just wish she would make her mind up!!!

The offer days seem to be quite similar to the open days so really not worth going to imo if you're already done it once with a fine tooth comb

I agree with you bobs about visit days being quite similar to open days. DS had 2 visit days that also included informal one to one interviews, but the other visit day was just the same as the open day we attended last year.

circular · 15/02/2015 22:05

mumslife Opposite here - think DD dreading school ending and everything being different. Its been a great year for her socially, and whether she goes away or not, the dynamics will change.

DD had one visit day with interview / audition (with offer following) that included a taster lecture. Another (where she already had offer) squeezed in 3 taster lecturers, and we also had time for a look around the Town, so worth the visit. The one she missed looked similar to the open day, but she missed that too, just did a campus tour.

NiceCardigan · 16/02/2015 18:09

DD1 was in Suffolk terrace mumslife

DS has been allocated his college at Durham today and he's very happy with it Smile

Waitingaround · 16/02/2015 19:48

My Ds was allocated his preferred college at Durham today- so he is also happy and is currently busily booking his offer days and flights (expensive business!)

gonegrey56 · 16/02/2015 20:11

Nicecardigan and Waitingaround

So pleased for your DCs!

Littleham · 16/02/2015 20:55

Brilliant that they got the colleges they wanted.

We are leaving first thing tomorrow morning to stay overnight in York (very long train journey). So we will have the afternoon and evening to explore the city before the offer holder day on Wednesday.

Horsemad · 16/02/2015 22:07

Congrats on the colleges NiceCardigan & Waitingaround!

Enjoy York Littleham.

NiceCardigan · 16/02/2015 22:27

We are catching the train to York late morning as DS is at an 18th birthday party tonight and we will both need a bit of a lie in as I'm being taxi driver later!

MrsBartlet · 18/02/2015 20:13

Hope you enjoyed York those who were going. Dd deciding between York and Warwick for her insurance place. She has seen York (and liked it) and so we are off to look at Warwick in the Easter hols.

NiceCardigan and waitingaround - glad your dc are pleased with their college allocations.

Sorry to hear about your DF, mumslife - hope things are ok Flowers
