Ok. DS1 has broken up for Easter and we now have to all accept that this is it. He has been doing dribs and drabs since mocks in February and an hour- ish in the evenings of stuff set by teachers.

Nowhere near what I remember doing for my o'levels a million miles ago. Friends tell me their kids are doing nothing yet. Not sure I believe them though!

Waiting for reality to kick in with him but he still seems to be treating it all like an end of topic test in class!

What's happening in your house? Are you staying well out of it or like me walking round waving a CGP guide 24/7!!!!!

Dd did her geography exam and it went ok. Her exam board is excel.

Nothing else this week, but revision lessons.

Dd says still in fucking school, no study leave until 4/6/14 and even then the science master is trying to get them in for revision sessions.

LIZS · 13/05/2014 16:43

ds' peers reported geography was hard. Chemistry went ok but he messed up the last calculation question.

Maths and English Lit tomorrow - seems an unnecessarily heavy combination

MrsMaturin · 13/05/2014 17:22

Ok have collected dd and seems she was 'annoyed' by the paper but that didn't mean it was dreadful. Talking it over afterwards there's a couple of marks she knows she missed and is cross with herself about but generally it sounds ok and like she coped pretty well. She reports Unit 2 was hard and she thinks the phrasing of the questions will have thrown people. Unit 3 was just dull apparently. No exams for her tomorrow so no revision tonight and I'm ordering pizza for tea.

My nerves are in shreds.......

MissScatterbrain · 13/05/2014 17:50

Maths tomorrow, RS and Chemistry on Thursday and finally History on Friday. Next week just as bad. Its going to be a very long fortnight...

MrsMaturin · 13/05/2014 17:53

We have Chemistry and History too this week.

Dontwanttobeyourmonkeywench · 13/05/2014 18:59

ICT tomorrow... Isn't it June yet???? Grin We have a a family friend's 21st on Saturday but he has decided that he will babysit DD instead of going out because it's likely to be a late night and he just wants to chill. Translation= DD has talked him into a pizza and Star Wars marathon GrinGrin

nostress · 13/05/2014 19:14

DS home. Also no exam leave here and still doing masses of BTEC coursework. I'm on my second glass of wine!

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 13/05/2014 19:14

DS1 thought OCR biology B1, B2 & B3 was 'okaaay' but the questions were worded strangely. OCR geography went well, he reckons. But he's always a bit overconfident...

My ds said the Biology AQA papers today were fine, and the geography was OK too but had no case study questions.

Free day tomorrow and I am letting him have his first ever sick day (so he can revise for Thursday's chemistry), as they are not getting study leave and there is a general air of pissing about, which is stressing him.

RaspberryLemonPavlova · 13/05/2014 20:37

DS said the Geography was fine. He did WJEC. Next week's paper is the one they are still trying to finish the syllabus for!

He has a breathing space now, no exams until next week.

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 13/05/2014 20:45

DS1 has ICT tomorrow, then Chemistry and RE on Thursday. They don't start study leave till half term, they're still expected in for revision lessons til then. He's pretty chilled about ICT, in fact he's at Explorers ATM. Blush

marymoocow · 13/05/2014 21:17

Biology and Geography today was good (DS's words). Spanish tomorrow PM after his leaving assembly and shirt signing! Not the best preparationHmm .

ancientbuchanan · 13/05/2014 21:48

Anyone else chemistry today? Ds a bit concerned about grade boundaries.

eatyourveg · 13/05/2014 21:56

ds said Geography (AQA) was fine although one of the 8 markers was a bit tough. Law tomorrow pm with extra revision sessions during break and lunch

No exams today, Chemistry and Physics tomorrow DD's Nemesis!

MrsMaturin · 14/05/2014 08:07

Dd had bit of stress meltdown before bed as was losing confidence in Biology papers. I think I talked her round ok. We have agreed she is not going to school today. No exams and she can just immerse herself in her history and chemistry. I think she needs to keep away from the other kids tbh. A bit too much exam hysteria now.
From what she's said I think she did fine in biology but she didn't feel as comfortable as she wanted to and as that's her favourite science that's freaking her a bit. With chemistry and physics to come she needs to get her head straight. Poor lamb :(

Best1sWest · 14/05/2014 09:43

ICT here today. DS very chilled. "What time is the exam DS?". " Dunno, Mum, someone will tell me. It's only ICT."

There we are then.

Today my thoughts are more with my DD who has the very last exam of her degree finals.

Best1sWest · 14/05/2014 09:48

Mrs Maturin hope your DD is feeling better today. I suspect DS won't be so relaxed when it comes to the subjects that matter to him (Eng Lit next week for one) and by the time he gets to Maths in mid June which is easily his worst subject he may well be feeling stressed too.

He is very laid back but buries a lot of stuff I think.

Dunlurking · 14/05/2014 12:04

I'm finding today very stressful. Ds is at home all day revising for chemistry, and he has asked me to go through syllabus stuff with him. It seems to be all new to him. Covalent bonds, ionic bonds, metallic bonding etc. I just don't want to think how much more there is of the syllabus that he has no idea about! He is predicted an A*. I think a B if he is lucky! Will be a wreck by the end of this week. How are we going to survive 4 more weeks of this?

MrsMaturin · 14/05/2014 12:09

I simply do not know! This is grim :(
