DS is in L1KGM
Are you all sending your DS' in with valuables bag and rucksacks?
DS' blazer looks HUGE on him

FatalFlowerGarden · 29/08/2013 20:05

tweenage - think I may have spotted you at pick up today Grin

Ds said he liked the fencing teacher so is quite pleased that he's their form tutor (he says I've spoiled the surprise though!) Funny that so many of them are in the same form!

Really looking forward to tomorrow!

Croydonmumtods · 29/08/2013 20:35

hecticmum think they only need to turn up wearing uniform - dosn't say anything about bags.

Somelikeithott · 29/08/2013 22:09

How interesting! And exciting.

I think it's just the Lake Garda stuff they need to take in tomorrow!

Burnt, it was a lady I know who mentioned it.

DS also said PAR is fencing and history teacher and he is Italian, but he didn't know his name. He also said he likes him. All will be revealed tomorrow.

And now I'm really curious about my cyber friends on here!

Just to address the balance! How did Trinity ds's get along today? Mine really enjoyed the football sessions and looking forward to tomorrow. Bit confused about what they should be wearing though. Dutifully sent him off in Trinity white shorts and top but he informs me that everyone else was wearing what I thought was the rugby outfit!

Hecticmumof4 · 29/08/2013 22:38

Ooh, outing begins!!!!
PAR is Rynes
I haven't got the padlock yet
DS hasn't settled well the last two nights - his head must be buzzing!

suz742 · 30/08/2013 07:31

Eyeswideclosed, my DS really enjoyed the football. He went in his Liverpool kit but said boys in a mix of Trinity kit so he's going in Rugby/football top and blue shorts today. He's so glad to have found the sporty boys in his class and is desperate to get in the football team. Meanwhile I'm still sewing in name tags and wading through all the forms to return on Tues.

Seeline · 30/08/2013 08:46

Hectic T use the blue kit for rugby, hockey and football lessons. The white is for gym, cricket and I think athletics (DS didn't seem to use the blue much last term!). I think they are fairly flexible though.
Is your DS looking forward to the induction session on Tuesday?

SoupDragon · 30/08/2013 08:54

Don't get too big a padlock! DS1's first one was, apparently, really awkward to put on as it was too big for the hasp bit on the locker.

SoupDragon · 30/08/2013 08:55

[sigh]

Seeline · 30/08/2013 10:01

sorry Hectic - my last post should have been to EyesWide - Oops Grin

Soup As I was really cruel last year and got ridicuously big sizes, DS seems to be able to fit into most of his uniform [smug smiley]

SoupDragon · 30/08/2013 10:24

DS1 appears to have been stuck in manure over the last few months and has shot up. He didn't have much new last year though :)

suz742 · 30/08/2013 17:40

T parents - I've realised I don't know the exact start and finish times to the school day, and recommended time to arrive each morning. Hopefully he will be coming on the 466 after the first week, thanks

FatalFlowerGarden · 30/08/2013 17:45

If I met anyone from this thread today (and I have a funny feeling I may have done) - hi!

It was a lovely afternoon, and ds has come home even more excited than before. I asked him if he thought he would enjoy W, and he said 'Mum, I'm going to absolutely RELISH every minute of it! And then went off to terrorise some peacocks... Hmm.

I honestly don't think he has given his primary school a second thought since Tuesday.

SoupDragon · 30/08/2013 18:01

They need to be at T before 8:30am, preferably before 8:15am, and the bell goes at the end of the day at 3:45. If you want to park in the carpark to collect, I would recommend getting there well before 3:30 though. Boys tend to amble out in their own good time - I think 4:15 is our current record!

EyesWideClosed · 30/08/2013 18:39

Soup-what happens if your ds arrives significantly earlier than 8.15am? Having looked at the timings, he's likely to arrive at around 7.45am. I note that you can have breakfast from 7.30am but he won't be doing that. Will he be able to go to his form room or is there some kind of 'holding area'?

SoupDragon · 30/08/2013 18:42

Apparently they "play outside".

SoupDragon · 30/08/2013 18:44

I'll have to send DSs in with some kind of MN identification :)

DS1 says he waits in the boys foyer before his form room is open.

Seeline · 31/08/2013 19:31

My Ds usually arrives at about 8 if I take him. He usually wanders into the Boys entrance - but I don't think they are allowed any further than that until 8.15 unless they have a specific activity/club. Lots of the boys are playing ball outside as well.

Somelikeithott · 01/09/2013 08:50

Good morning all. It's been a roller coaster of a summer. And sounds like our DSs had fun at T & W last week. Hopefully, the start of an exciting and very fruitful life experience for them all. I just wanted to wish all our DSs the very best at T & W, as we enter the week when it all starts properly!

What is everyone, doing re pocket money? Are you giving DS any? Do they get a morning snack (as well as lunch) from school? I feel like a neurotic mum now!!!! Primary school was so straight forward, lol!

Hopefully, for me, today is when the last of labelling gets sorted and Laundary for the upcoming trip organised.

Hecticmumof4 · 01/09/2013 13:28

Hott - I have heard L1 don't get access to the tuck shop but this isn't from an "official source". DS is get the 7:12 am Bus to W so I can't see how he can last the whole morning to lunch. So, I'll be giving him a snack box for most days ( but def NO sandwiches!!)

I've still got padlocks, phonecard and fountain pen to buy. Sooo excited for him but crazing a normal routine.
DS has chosen all his co-curricular activities already Grin

TCofB · 01/09/2013 16:23

also heard from "unofficial source" tuck shop is available to year 8s and upwards - so both L1 and U1 should bring a snack for break (or they can buy one from breakfast before school for later or use the vending machine for drinks, crisps and chocolate bars etc ..)

FatalFlowerGarden · 02/09/2013 09:49

Good point about the snacks, thanks! Will make sure ds has something on him for break

Croydonmumtods · 02/09/2013 10:37

fatal glad it's not just me in a panic then. I keep thinking I've forgotten something major and he'll be in trouble on his first day. Then when I reassure myself on that point start panicking that we'll arrive late. I'll be glad when wednesdays over then I can start panicking about lake Garda! Anyway ds had such a lovely time last week and seems really happy with his class so I'm sure it will all be ok although I suspect there will be a few hiccups along the way. Good luck to all both W and T boys. Imagine next years group will be starting to read this soon!

Ladymuck · 02/09/2013 12:17

Oh don't worry - we're already following you Grin. Hope all the boys have a great week! They'll all seem very grown up by the end of it!
