Hi
I am trying to find out if anyone has any experience with the Sackville School in Tonbridge, Kent. It looks like a nice small school and has a great website but can't seem to find any reveiews on line.
Many thanks for any help.

Just wondering if you joined Sackville and how it's going?

I am also currently looking at Sacvill for my daughter. She needs support for dyslexia and wondered if anyone has any experience of the school? Many thanks x

Me too!
I was recommended Sackville for its small class sizes and S.E.N / Dyslexic support.
I went to the Open Day but would like the views of recent parents on the support received and any other comments. Thanks!

Does anyone have any recent experience at Sackville re a child with ASD and ADD, DCD, Dyslexia? He is academically high average but has several challenges ‘accessing’ his potential both physically and behaviourally. Thanks

Would love to hear more on this school. Considering it for my daughter. Is it still more boys then girls or has that levelled out?
Would be great to get some up to date info.

lizzy789 I can’t help with info on Sackville but if you’re looking for a mixed, nurturing school, Bethany School near Marden might be worth a look.

giraffelaugh · 28/03/2021 17:57

@lzzy789 Sackville has a high number of students with additional needs/EHCP. It has a good LS dept but I wouldn't say it was a mixed ability school if that's what you want. I think it also has a gender imbalance with more boys (not sure if that is still the case). I would ask when you visit - class numbers and gender split.

I think it has struggled for numbers due to the great state options and more prestigious indies such as Sevenoaks or Tonbridge in the area. Beechwood Sacred Heart has had the same problem I think. That might be worth a look, good LS and nurturing but a bit more academically mixed than Sackville I think. BSH has recently been bought by the same group that owns Sackville.

Thank you! That was what I would have liked answers for.
Really helpful!

Hello! To follow at trend...I am visiting it today for dc1, heard good things. Bit concerned that it may have not focussed on SEN as much in recent years based on chat. Can anyone advise please?

When i was looking for reviews I really striggled so i thought I'd share some positive feedback about Sackville School in Hildenborough Kent, as our son has really thrived there.

He is high-functioning ASD, and the school has been fantastic at both stretching him academically and supporting him personally. It’s a mixed-ability school, and we’ve seen how well they support not only him but also his friends, which makes a real difference to the whole experience.

Small classes, good pastoral care and good acedemic support.

From the start, they really made him feel at home. The teachers are very supportive, and the family-like atmosphere has helped him settle in and enjoy school life.

On his last parents evening his was so enthuiastic about his biology and DT teachers is was funny. He has been up the fron on the white baord and really only has good things to say.

The school buses and drivers are great as well.

They have a great friday afternoon system og activites like shooting, archery, paddleboarding and such this always finishes his week off very well.

As parents, we feel very happy with our choice and wanted to recommend the school to others who might be considering it.
