Only 12 plus 2 Btechs

That's not fair

Options Evening & most of the teachers had no idea about the dance & stuff

No-one knew she could only really do homework Friday & Sunday

We are down to a firm 12, no discussion, no augment; so we will see how it goes if she fails any of them Sad

Final choice:
Btec Dance Yr 9
Btec Science Yr 9
GCSE Spanish Y10
GCSE Geography Yr10
GCSE Music Yr10
GCSE English Lang Yr10
GCSE Maths Yr11
GCSE Double Science Yr11
GCSE Eng Lit Yr11
GCSE Business Studies Yr11
Btec Drama Yr11

That sounds better, and with Music and Drama in the mix it will balance out the heavier reading etc with some of the others. I think it is wise to stop at 12 as an absolute maximum.

We had to sacrifice the third science & agree to Bus studies rather than whatever cooking is called atm

But I think she is happy(ish) & I can hopefully help her keep up with Business Science & Maths ........but who knows

So only 8 GCSEs? And 4 in year 10? What's the likelihood of getting As and Bs in year 10? Or are the school only interested in getting the 'magical' C grades?
All this cramming into one year, PAH!!
Also what happens at 6th Form when you want to take a subject you haven't touched since year 10? I wonder that the students can remember anything they've learned!

hocuspontas · 19/01/2012 21:26

Sorry for the rant! I just get cross about things like this Blush

KatyMac · 19/01/2012 21:31

Don't know if you noticed but I'm quite cross too

She will be doing PA in 6th form - almost certainly vocational

But I am doing the best I can......(isn't science 2?)

Oh yes miscounted! That's better! Do they have to do RE? I know it was a compulsory GCSE at dd2's school.

KatyMac · 19/01/2012 21:38

It's officially compulsory (as is 3 science if she gets a good Btec result)

But the third science and RE wee all they were prepared to let us give up
