dd1 is going up in September, had an interview with her year tutor last week and induction days in a couple of weeks.
I've started looking at uniform & it's getting closer!

I hope he enjoys it 3monkeys :)

Did nanny go suitably disguised? Grin He'll be fine, I'm sure. Lot's of potential for making new friends and finding like minded people in a bigger school.

3monkeys · 14/07/2011 23:47

He had a lovely day! Dinner was apparently fabulous, and he walked home in a big gang with girls from the girls school next door as well!! Nanny got binned after taking them through the traffic lights bless her!

HarrietJones · 15/07/2011 18:19

Well on dd1 is on wind down now, school play done, leaver party next week then leavers assembly on Friday. Parents don't get to go but I'd only have cried! Need to get pressies this weekend.

how's everyone coping with the last week? I am a wreck!!! Can't believe my baby has only two days left in juniors!! Boo Hoo!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/07/2011 07:04

dd doesnt finish until the middle of next week!!! The count down feels very strange.

HarrietJones · 21/07/2011 07:06

We have the key conundrum too. Dd2 should be home before dd1 but we often shop on the way home, also what about my work days when dd2/3 will be with my parents?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/07/2011 07:34

dd has a key - I gave it to her as a 10h birthday present as a sign she is becoming more responsible. She loses it far less than I lose mine Hmm

whoknowswho · 21/07/2011 07:34

I'm going to see how DS copes with a locker key for a couple of weeks before I do the door key thing I think!!!!! Just about to wake him up now to think that at this time in Sept he'll be at the bus stop!Hmm

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/07/2011 07:34

missed out a 't' there.

CeliaFate · 21/07/2011 07:44

My dd breaks up tomorrow. The school has planned NOTHING for the year 6 leavers. No disco, bbq, party, nothing. I'm appalled at their lack of thought and organisation. They've done something every other year for year 6. Angry

OhYouBadBadKitten · 21/07/2011 08:11

that is really sad Celia :(

HappyHome · 21/07/2011 17:15

Same here Celia.

DS has just broken up, luckily the PTA has organised a leavers disco tonight as the school weren't planning on doing anything - in previous years they have been to Chiquitos, had trips ect but this year they have a new Head and she is a bit Hmm

Just been tidying up the school letters and one slipped out of the school uniform list. A note that says from September year 7 MUST wear the official skirt/trousers. At the interview the teacher said any navy skirt/ trousers I hadn't bought any but they are £18.99/11.99 which is a jump from £5 each in the supermarket

can I join please? DS starts in September, just been to his Leavers' do tonight. He looked so grown up in the suit he had asked us to buy. No idea when he will wear it again but I know we'll buy a dress for DD in 2 years time so decided to oblige!

He's had 1 transition day and loved it, but doesn't find out his form until September. The school has a reputation for mixing up all the children so they are not with friends from juniors...I hope he will at least know someone as they are taught in form groups for most subjects in Y7

maypole1 · 21/07/2011 22:31

Yesterday dd went to prom oh he looked so lovely in his suit and cravat and his "date" is a bit of a Tom boy was wearing the same suit they looked sooooo cute

One girl arrived in a horse a carriage and anther looked like what clearly was fake tan and nails Hmm

Never mind any way it was leavers assembly today I was weeping like a child couldn't even talk to the head as I was weeping so much and dd won most improved for maths and got a little trophy with his name on it also won the bronze award for behaviour so I could not be prouder and just feel everything is gonna be ok

Dd has his year 6 summer cam at the high school next week so fingers crossed.

HarrietJones · 22/07/2011 07:51

School skirt has to be past the knee so I'm not sure where else may sell them

Oh God, I have to join you here. DS starts in Sept too, I have already started a snivelling-last-day-at-primary thread....

Happy tears from me, too. It was my DS2's last day at primary school (he has ASD and a statement of SEN) and an emotional leavers' assembly. All the children had a dictionary and leaver's book presented to them, much polite applause for each child. Then DS2's name called out and a huge spontaneous cheer went up! I was bawling my eyes out!

lovecorrie · 22/07/2011 18:07

Aw Ellen that's lovely. DS was in his year six performance last night and had a really big role - he's a really shy and sensitive chap and I was so proud of him...a couple of the mums came up to me today and said how amazingly talented and funny he was, which was lovely. Sadly, he still wishes to play professionally for Chelsea Grin
