American woman living in Bernera is suing the local community run cafe because it would not admit her "emotional support" dog. She is being supported by the Ethnic Minorities Law Centre because Americans are ethnic minorities, and is being funded by Legal Aid. She wants £10k, which would shut them down.

I mean. What the actual fuck. Move to a tiny island with 250 people on it, claim you're being ostracised and harrassed and try to solve that by suing a charity? That'll sort it. And LEGAL FUCKING AID???

200,000 will hopefully cover everything and leave enough for the community to do something useful with the rest. For an island with such a small population it must be lovely to know 13,000 people are on their side

This woman has some wild views. I can’t abide dogs in cafes. Guide dogs for the blind - find. Anyone else, if the owner tells you to piss off, off you should piss.

Excellent - well done Trip Advisor! 👏 I have a dog, he's welcome in some places and not in others - I always check before I go and take a warm coat if it's dog friendly in the outdoor seating area. If it doesn't accept dogs at all then I simply go about my day - starting an argument about it wouldn't even cross my mind!

We were in the Blue Lobster in Stornoway in August. It's very small. There is an outside space clearly marked as dog-friendly.

I find it so bizarre that she has moved to such a small community and seems to de doing everything she can to upset as many people as possible.

Like Sir I have a DDog but accept that she’s not welcome everywhere. You know before you get a DDog that some places will no longer welcome you, unless you’re a total idiot. Oh wait…

Accusations of scamming from the woman apparently with form for causing problems, and somehow securing tax payer funded legal aid, trying to extract money from small community organisations is hilarious.

It’s really nice that she can unite so many Scots - all with different views on many decisive issues - in our ridicule and disrespect of her. That’s really impressive!

She does seem to be the type to pick a fight in an empty room.
