Sorry pressed post accidentally. He was one of the reasons I loved rugby. And then what he did after his diagnosis. True legend of a man.

I know not the first thing about his sport but I have learned a lot about the man and his condition in recent months due to his tireless campaigning. He had a brilliant spirit and was I'm sure an inspiration to many. His family must be heartbroken but very proud.

So sad and such a loss to his family, friends, the rugby community and the wider world.
An absolute legend and a campaigner. He has raised so much money and awareness of MND. Surely we must have a breakthrough soon into treatment for this horrible disease, that would be his true legacy

RIP Doddie, a lovely man and a great player. Dreadful, dreadful illness.

I'm not Scottish, but Doddie's passing has really affected me. My DF died from MND at the age of 55. It's such a cruel illness. Doddie did amazing things to raise awareness and I hope that one day, they are able to find effective treatments for such a horrid disease. RIP Doddie.
