Has anyone got any information that's not just a wee fuzzy online map?
I've googled loads and am just confused.
I've not been in city centre in ages but will be going regularly from next week.
All i can really see is a map online covered in red ,which doesn't say much.

It looks like the whole of the city centre is a no go area for 3 weeks.

Personally i find it all a pain in the arse.

@Yellow85

Biden is staying in Edinburgh - assuming the Scotsman/Waldorf. The bloody m8 will be shut to convoy him through, hopefully he doesn’t come through everyday! That’s some avoidable fuel usage right there.
Good call. There was definitely a presence around the Waldorf this morning.
emmathedilemma · 01/11/2021 13:09

Biden has arrived at Edinburgh airport this morning. There's more police around than there are passengers!

Haudyourwheesht · 01/11/2021 16:56

There were pictures of Biden sleeping through the speeches. Maybe he got the megabus up.

feellikeanalien · 01/11/2021 17:03

Apparently Erskine Bridge was closed today to allow the Greenpeace boat to come up the Clyde!

Feelingoktoday · 01/11/2021 17:04

Traffic jams sounded horrendous today. Contradiction really, conference on environment but outside traffic Jams.

ISpyCobraKai · 01/11/2021 17:13

It was @feellikeanalien with 15mins notice.
Our nearest A&E is over there ffs, I've been blue lighted over it more times than I care to remember, as has Dd when she lived at home.
I'm actually going over it to the cinema later, but booked the cinema for 10pm hoping there'd be no traffic.
I also have tickets for Friday and Sunday at 7.30pm, thinking they'd be fine too.
I'm not even chancing going to Dd's until its over, M8 through town or Great Western Rd, I don't think so.

I do accept I'm lucky in that I don't actually need to go anywhere though, I feel for everyone who has no choice.

ISpyCobraKai · 01/11/2021 17:15

Biden brought The Beast, you couldn't make this up.

They had no choice - the boat was told NOT to sail up the Clyde because at low tide there was something like 3 metres clearance from the top of the boat to the bottom of the bridge.

They said fuckit, we're coming anyway. So Police Scotland had to close the bridge. Massive disruption. But the activists on board the boat don't care about that.

StarryEyeSurprise · 01/11/2021 18:08

The M8 was actually fine at dinner time today. DH didn't need to stop at all on the Kingston.

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 01/11/2021 19:20

Has anyone seen the pictures of kelinhaugh tonight? Completely closed for a dinner in the art galleries and apparently security services not letting people back in their houses till 10pm. (This is from social media btw) so aware it could be bullshit but the pictures are real

IsurviveonCoffeeandWinein2021 · 01/11/2021 19:24

*kelvin

Looks like an interesting dinner at Kelvingrove tonight…even William and Kate have turned up

Yellow85 · 02/11/2021 14:35

Erskine bridge closing again at 4:30pm. Nightmare!

Not sure if this is rainbow warrior heading back?

Haudyourwheesht · 02/11/2021 16:47

I'm really not sure if that's sarcasm or not @titsintiers. Grin

Yes, it appears to have left again already.

Wow, all that road disruption for a day in Glasgow. Well worth it. Hmm

No sarcasm intended! Genuinely made me chortle.

Reporting Scotland did a vox pop with Glaswegians about their opinion of the COP. Some choice replies Grin
