I'm 42, OH is 43, both fit and healthy. Non-HCPs, no underlying conditions or caring responsibilities. Surnames both at the latter end of the alphabet.

Has anybody similar to us had theirs yet? I don't want to bother my GP, but I'm thinking we can't be far off now?

@emmathedilema I'm military, maybe that's why? But have had a letter in my Maiden name to my mums address for an appt in 2 weeks from NHS Scotland...Arrived today.

CombatBarbie · 06/05/2021 20:50

Which actually I don't understand as I'm not registered with a civvie GP

PufferFishGoneWrong · 06/05/2021 21:16

@emmathedilemma

I've heard a few people say their half their street was there when they went *@RedactedTaeFeck* so that seems to be a theme. Although some couples who are similar age have been sent to the same appointment and others have gone days apart.
My husband and our direct neighbour has their app on the same day and 15mins apart. So street sounds right.

When do you think 38/39 year olds will be ?
Perhaps last week in May ?

MathsFiend · 06/05/2021 22:25

Glasgow, 44. Got my vaccination yesterday, so won’t be long OP!

emmathedilemma · 07/05/2021 09:09

my appointment is the last week in May @RubyWooRed and i'm 44! It seems to depend where you live though, friends the same age have been this week up north but Glasgow and Edinburgh appear to be lagging behind somewhat.

Ecthelion · 07/05/2021 09:20

I think so and it sounds like they might up the pace. The papers are reporting that under 40s will be allowed to choose their vaccine. There’s actually quite a big stockpile of Pfizer at the moment as they’ve been saving it for under 30s who they’re not recommending AstraZeneca too. They may open that up for under 40s now too. Best place to store jabs is in arms, not warehouses!
RubyWooRed · 07/05/2021 09:59

Last week in may or first week in June sounds great , not too long to wait

How much notice usually is it with the letter ?
Do you get the letter and it’s two weeks away etc ?
Just hoping appointments fit in with shifts

RedactedTaeFeck · 07/05/2021 10:20

I think in Forth Valley its been about a week and a day in terms of notice. Not too far that you will potentially forget to go. I went onto the change appointment system just for a look, there weren't any other available appointments that week, but there were a few options for the week after. Hopefully yours is either OK or you get a decent choice to change it to.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 07/05/2021 11:09

48 in Dumfriesshire - middle of the alphabet - no letter yet. is there anywhere to check timescales?

emmathedilemma · 07/05/2021 11:33

I'd ring them @AthelstaneTheUnready the guy didn't challenge me as to why i was phoning, I said I believed the appointments might be in the system and I was trying to plan my work diary but you should have had yours by now. It's 08000 308013 and select option 2.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 07/05/2021 12:14

After phoning the other day and getting a note of my date our blue letters arrived today - age 47 in North Lanarkshire

Rae36 · 07/05/2021 13:00

RubyWooRed · 07/05/2021 14:31

Thanks I’m
Under 40 so happy to wait

NotSoLongGoodbye · 07/05/2021 17:06

Heard from friend today that some of the blue letters have gone missing in Edinburgh and to ring ....

AthelstaneTheUnready · 07/05/2021 18:15

Helpline had no info - just said it was down to the local healthboard and letters would be going out 'soon'. 48 (49 next month), middle of alphabet, Dumfriesshire.

dementedpixie · 07/05/2021 18:17

Think helpline can only help if an appointment has been set up for you already. Did they take your name and other details to check the system? Hope you don't have to wait too long

hemhem · 07/05/2021 18:19

45, got letter yesterday and 1st appt next week. OH is 42 and nothing yet.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 07/05/2021 18:53

Yes, they checked - they were really helpful insofar as they unfortunately had no information!

I'm not so fussed for myself, only my mother is really unwell and I would like to have at least had my 1st before seeing her.
