Meteorological spring- welcoming the light

The last thread was a cosy place full of uplifting posts. Most of us are still in much need of more light for many different reasons. As meteorological spring starts tomorrow let's share our buds, chicks, lambs, turning down of thermostats and (my personal fave) spring inspired food and drinks. DH and I chalked out a new seating area in the garden that we plan to do after Easter, my gingerbread candles have progressed to airier scents and I ordered a pale pink cardigan.

Technically, only the left hand half of the garden is "mine", so the cherry tree and the raised beds. The other half belongs to our downstairs' neighbours although in practice we treat the grass as communal and dh does the mowing (as he loves doing it Wink and downstairs' neighbour is a reluctant gardener, only cutting the grass when he is nagged to do so Grin).

We have a glorious 100ft high pear tree in the top left corner. Looks brilliant when the blossom is out but we need a hail storm after the Victoria plum blossom (smaller tree beside it) has set to then stop the pear blossom setting Confused Otherwise we have a gazillion pears dropping from a great height in August/September Shock

DD4 has full on make up (this is her amateur skill and a big deal to her) , she's melted down some Easter eggs to do chocolate covered strawberries, and I have helped her make the event shelter a cosy, fairy lit, patio heater warmed entertainment zone. She has 3 friends (they are 17) coming over and I cannot wait to hear them giggling and pretend I don't know that they have cans of cocktails. Her pals are lovely and I love seeing my girl returned to eyebrowed, contoured, passion fruit martini normalityGrin
