How much time between May election and another indyref

How much time do you think there would need to be (as a minimum) between the May elections and another independence referendum? Could it conceivably be held in 2021? Getting nervous as if this is on the cards we want to sell up and move before it happens. Not done this yet even though it is constantly being pushed as wanted to stay while kids are small to be near grandparents. I’m finding it hard to judge what the timescales could be. Also if it was announced it might be harder to sell our house if we wait too long

Hopefully very quickly.

@Elvesaremagic do you have links to your figures? I'd love a look. I hadn't realised any financial analysis had started taking all the current context into account.

byGaslight excellent and interesting post.
I’m struggling with the uncertainty of Indeyref 2 like so many people but I have a financial cushion and choices open to my family and me.

I fear that, as ever, it will be the poorest members of society and those who fall through the safety net that will be hit hardest by an Independence referendum in the near future.

Uncertainty is crippling for individuals, families, business and the economy.

There is so much healing to be done as a society and economically post Covid 19, the last thing on the agenda should be Indyref 2.

If there is an argument to rebut the dire economic predictions of independence Scotland - the last of which was the LSE report last week which said independence Scexit would be 3 x more damaging than Brexit - someone would have stated them. All we hear is ‘levers of power’. No answers. Same with the currency question. Total silence. The only reason can be is that there are no sunlit uplands. The SNP know it. They just desperately hope they can pull the wool over their gullible supporters eyes long enough for them to vote yes. It’s Brexit all over again, but with far more serious consequences and a much smaller population to shoulder the burden.

Aw thanks @OldRailer wasn’t really sure where those comments had come from so it’s a good way of describing it. Wasn’t wanting to debate the ins and outs or criticise anyone in favour, just our personal circumstances do make me think we need a back up plan and I was interested to know how long people anticipated we’d have. Sure there were many the same ahead of the brexit ref
