Scottish Schools - Face masks now "obligatory"

Regardless of whether anyone agrees or not these are now "obligatory" on buses, in corridors, and communal areas (not sure exactly what that means, some classrooms, but guess school will clarify?)

So ds(16) will need a mask for:

Bus/entering school to well-being/registration class
Going to periods 1 - 7
Goingwil to break/lunch
Bus home

So does he use the same mask all day, taking it on/off 11 times, or should he have several masks for the day and a dirty mask bag?

What will you be doing?

I am thinking maybe 2-3 masks per day......one for before morning break, after morning break and after lunch.....as I doubt ds would take/use 11 masks totally hygienically!

Our presentation covered young people or staff who might not use a face covering at times not because they were exempt but to facilitate lip reading. Still not perfect but not avoiding the reality for a number of pupils.

It’s never going to be perfect, we all just have to muddle through the best we can.

Why do we need to muddle? Why can’t we learn to live with a virus that is benign to the very vast majority

That's what I am doing. That's what my adult and young adult DC and other family members are are doing. In Lidlfam there are teachers, Uni students and a school pupil plus 2 other essential workers . We navigate public opinion and all that entails, policy and our own opinions. We know that some people will disagree with us entirely regardless of what we do or don't do.

We have suffered COVID loss and worried about my (previously highest risk shielding category ) DF.

My best is good enough, creds to an awesome ASD colleague for that.

It's not always benign and my low risk relative and DH's low risk team member who were lost are testament to that.

I will do all that I personally and professionally can to keep prevalence down.

I am aware that the situation can can change quickly and am taking steps to mitigate when possible.

Whilst many office workers and politicians are still working from home.
