My 9 year old has come down with a cold. Typical symptoms, stuffed nose, cough, sore throat, loss of smell.
Does she need a test before she's allowed to go to school?

The NHS don't have any trace of me as my employer arranged the test and I am going straight to an answering service. Sad

@Lidlfix nooo!!! Is it the 0300 number you are trying? Have you got the barcode for your test receipt?

Lid, how frustrating for you! Hope you get some answers soon.

Genuine question for those that have been tested at centres... Do they do walk-ups (with appointments) or do you need to actually show up in a car? Just wondering what's in store for the inevitability of me needing testing at some point after I go back to work in a school, and not owning a bloody car 🤔

No barcode or test receipt as HR at my work did all the paperwork, I was getting sent miles away before they acted for me. My HT has contacted them and I can return to work but no result . Confused

Mrs Maria they asked me if I had a car and number plate. But I figured that was for ID purposes. Surely there must be something if you can't go by car ?

3 days I think since DDs test sent away and still no result. She's feeling much better. Meanwhile I feel utterly shite - hot, headache, coughing, sore throat, tired, can't taste anything. Staying indoors just in case but hope its the cold. Will wait for DDs results before deciding if I should get a test myself. My temperature is only 36o though so not fever range.

There was an option to book a walk through test when I booked, it would have been tricky to get where the walk in place was without a car though!
